ChaseFan9
That's what a buddy of mine over at Wally World told me today after he pointed out that everything AR related was on clearance, and once it's gone there won't be any more. There's actually some decent deals right now, the store out here's even got a Windham AR-15 for a little less than $600, and sold the Colt they had for the same. sketch
I see their ar rifles were on sale 100$ less? ( bushmaster/ windam/ colt) ammo was same price.
jtallen83
I'm reading lots of posts on forums about people buying "tactical"rifles on clearance. Hope they stay in the ammo bizz, I get most of my cheap range fodder there.

planeflyer21
I never buy any of that made in china sheet anyway. Dad used to call them "The China Store".
ChaseFan9
I never liked Walmart, either, they come into small towns and run out small businesses. I'm not as worried about the made in China part, but only because it seems like everything from everywhere is at least made partly in China. JT, I think our ammo supply is safe (for now), but they are getting rid of any firearms or parts that they deem "tactical" (I.E. AR-related). No rail sections, stocks, slings, certain optics, etc. The pic rail covers are about the only thing that hasn't been red-tagged yet.
blue109
Out of curiosity I checked the website. still normal price on most of that stuff. Seems they like the money the evil items generate, they just want to make a big show of getting rid of it in the stores.
survivalshop
Politicly Correct ! I don't buy anything from them , My wife will shop at there grocery part of some things , but I won't ! I don't even like going in there !
jtallen83
I hate shopping there myself but price wise they are about it in my neighborhood. I don't mind the china thing either, if they will give us goods for worthless green paper then good for them. As far as the political correct aspect.....that depends on perspective. In many ways it is politically correct not to shop there and I don't like to be politically correct. I know many of the most liberal areas in the east will not allow walmart to build so by default I have to support walmart.....one big grey area there. <dontknow> Edited August 10, 2015 by jtallen83
shepp
They put food on my table, but I also support local as much as possible. With that said I'd never buy a gun there, we have local shops, I do buy ammo there because it's cheap and pluntiful, hate grocery shopping there, ones and two's ok cart full no fuk'n way Edited August 10, 2015 by shepp
mrmackc
It is your money spend it where it benefits YOU the most, remembering your local shops, stores, cafes, mechanics, gunsmiths, that provide you help, do the best work. If there is a small price difference I always go LOCAL I won't buy any high priced vehicle, boat, gun from anyone I don't know will supply customer service. AMAZON, Brownells, Midway and sometimes other online vendors gets many orders for stuff not on the shelf locally. It is easy because Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot, Sears, are at least 40 miles away. We have a local hardware-lumberyard and a mini-supermarket and a Tractor Supply store along with a decent GM and Ford Motor Co. dealer. My favorite gun dealer has always been able to supply guns, scopes at a very reasonable price. He puts it in my hand and I put cash in his hand. planeflyer21
Went to Miller's Surplus locally and was thrilled to see quality Made In the USA workboots, amongst all the chinese crap. Told the sales guy so and that I'd be back for a pair. He said people come in "Where's the Made In America boots?! $160?!!? Screw that!!" slugger43
Local Wally World doesn't trust me, keeps all of the ammo on shelves behind a counter too far away to read. Last time in I asked the lady clerk what they had in .308 ammo. So she gets down on hands and knees to read the boxes, and asks me "Is that 308 the same as three-oh-oh-six? Then, "It looks like we have three-eight, but not three-oh-eight). I'm thinking maybe some stores shouldn't be selling "tactical" or any other kind of gun-related stuff. <dontknow> She did say she only works in that department part of the time................ shepp
Was just in a store they had a lot of their air soft stuff on clearance, two "tac" looking shot guns and a full length bird gun on clearance no ar's here but the scary looking ruger scouts were full price
Sisco
Just checked two wally world's yesterday. Nothing up here on clearance, and lots of 5.56 AR's on the shelf. They did have Turkish ZQ1 5.56 Ammo 850 rounds in an ammo can for $457. That is 50cents a round almost. Too expensive for my blood. I did buy the last two 20 count boxes of ZQ1 7.62x51 for $9.93 each .
