unforgiven
Finnally got the M5 out to dance.Put in the AR10 buffer which was longer and heavier [ by feel] than Aero carbine buffer.Cleaned and lubed the BCG,cleaned chamber and barrel.First shot and trigger had nothing for the next one then I heard a click.Trigger reset and shot next round. So I found that I had to push trigger forward about an 1/8" it reset and shot.Ran 80 rds. 147,150,and 168 grs.Winchester,ZQ,Fiocchi and PPU.0 FTE,0 FTF.Last round bolt lock on Pmag and Lancer Warfighter.Consistent pile 4' @ 4:30.Toward the last 30 rds. trigger reset without issue.Set a 50 yrd. zero as that is the longest pit Izzac Walton has.Set Eotec at same zero and has absolute co-witness with MagPul Pro BUS.I figured since it was almost 98* I would be the only dumbass out to shoot, about 40 min. later a guy pulls up and I point to my ear to let a shot fly.He smiles and sez ok,not putting any ear pro on.I let shot fly and see window go up.Let a few fly and see this guy is in a wheelchair.I'm like WTF that was the end for me as I couldn't have this guy waiting in the heat.He ask's if it's a .308 and I said yea.Asked him if he wanted to shoot it,he said fuk yea.I thought he was going to shoot from his chair but he got himself onto the bench.Last thing I wanted to see was him rolling backwards or flipping back.....He gave me his phone to video his shooting the M5.First video was of my feet...second one was of him shooting.I set him up he wanted to zero a 15 he put together and zero a Eotech he had on the rifle.Got stuff from his car set up a target and got my $hit together to go.Had to ask what happened to him,car reck left 3 of his bro's dead and him paralyzed from waist down.He was young around 30 something.Camera is charging will get picks of M5.Trigger is going to be changed to Mec Arms, barrel to be chopped and stainless BABC added to finish @ 14.5.Hope everyone has a great Labor day. unforgiven
I just had to push it forward about 1/8" if that for complete reset.I thought the BAD lever was the problem, spoke to brother Rob and he said it could be disconnector but as I continued to shoot it worked better.Just about gone toward the end of 80 rd. session. 98Z5V
You running the receiver extension that Aero gave you? AR10 buffer is too long for that extension, by about 5/8".
unforgiven
Negative...AR10 carbine extention from brother Ron,EA1095 spring and AR10 buffer. All Armalite.
98Z5V
Okay - I'm relieved - that buffer wouldn't have run for shiit in a standard 7" receiver ext. I think the trigger thing was parts-mating-together... that buffer in the ext dry? No light lube on the buffer or spring?
Rsquared
You ain't winding up in any chair my brother. I'll kick your ass out of it and make you follow me to the next cooler/bar. 392heminut
They say use it or loose it as we get older. You push yourself a lot more than most folks your age & shape so I doubt you'll end up in a wheelchair! Rock on brother!
