Breck Posted September 17, 2015 Report Posted September 17, 2015 Hey guys & gals, I'm brand new to the AR 10 platform. I'm going to be purchasing one used. It's a DPMS SASS Gen 1. I've heard good and bad things about this model. The good:Very accurate.has great fluted bull barrelThe bad:can have feed issues which may be a result of over gassing (needs adjustable gas block installed) or the buffer spring is too tight.Does anyone have experience with this rifle. I hear the Gen 2 are completely redesigned and they fixed a lot of the issues.Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.Thank you,-Breck
Malig8r Posted September 17, 2015 Report Posted September 17, 2015 Breck, welcome to the forum from Washington. Lots of info in the stickied threads. I do not have experience with your model but I'm sure that someone here does.
MikedaddyH Posted September 17, 2015 Report Posted September 17, 2015 Welcome from AZ !DPMS is a good first rifle, a lot of options. Anything wrong can be fixed after the break in period.

Breck Posted September 17, 2015 Author Report Posted September 17, 2015 (edited) This is how the guy that I'm buying the rifle from has it configured. Vortex Viper 1-4 X 24. Looks like he took the irons off. I'll be taking the weapon light off and putting that on my M4.Pick it up on Saturday (9/19). Edited September 17, 2015 by Breck
