mrmackc
I wasn't sure when I saw the ceremony commemoration for Pearl Harbor day 75th anniversary this morning that my grandsons ship the USS Halsey was the lead ship, since I didn't see the number on the bow but in the evening news it was mentioned that the lead ship is the Halsey. I saw the hull number 97 and knew that my grandson had duty today. He is a 21 year old E4 gas turbine tech.

98Z5V
Can't believe it's been 75 years since the attack. Where is time going, now that I think about it? 15 years since 9/11, 27 years since Panama... Damn, I'm getting old...

Armed Eye Doc
I have been there as well. It is incredibly moving. Him being on the lead ship is certainly an honor worthy of pride for you Mack.
mrmackc
I have been there more than one times. My wife and I took wife's mother and my youngest daughter there for mother-in-law's 75th birthday and daughter's H.S. graduation. Grandson's dad,our son, was a Marine stationed there at the time.
