Microgunner Posted August 24, 2012 Report Posted August 24, 2012 was headed right for us and the RNC but looks like it may drift a little westward...I hope. Some of the urbanites have their American Express bricks ready to go smash and grab shopping as soon as the riots begin.Businesses near the RNC are boarding up their windows.Police snipers on rooftops. Something I've never seen before.
survivalshop Posted August 24, 2012 Report Posted August 24, 2012 Glad I'm on the east coast , but ya never know about these storms .They won't know where its going for a while & we know how they can shift with out much notice. The Snipers are normal now a days , for these type of events.
85 Jimmy Posted August 24, 2012 Report Posted August 24, 2012 I'm over in Gulfport, MS and I'm hoping it just fizzles out before it gets here. I'm not going to get excited about it until it gets closer. All though, I will fill up my generator and gas can just incase.
Jgun Posted August 24, 2012 Report Posted August 24, 2012 could you tell me what the acronym RNC stands for?

BLKSHEEP Posted August 28, 2012 Report Posted August 28, 2012 Damn september storm is heading stright towards me now :gtfo2: no big deal just a pain in the azz loosing power in this awful heat & humidity. The gas stations are already getting low on gas, grocery stores are out of EVERYTHING, I stocked up early <thumbsup> I have a question maybe y'all can help me with...what would be better a 6500 watt Honda gas generator or a 6500 watt Titan diesel generator?
Pappy1600 Posted August 28, 2012 Report Posted August 28, 2012 Both are good, I have a 6500k Yamaha and it runs my whole house, it is gas, but I noticed that the Ethenol that is being added to the gas breaks down and gums everything up, and thats even putting in treatments! pisses me off when have to tear down a carb right before you need to use the damn thing! If I were to do it again I would go Diesel or LP or Natural Gas.
planeflyer21 Posted August 28, 2012 Report Posted August 28, 2012 Natural gas, especially if you have gas in your house already.Jon
george_995 Posted August 28, 2012 Report Posted August 28, 2012 I have been thinking about purchasing a generator also (live in florida), I think I am gonna go for a diesel one. This is not only for Hurricanes but for the summer storms too. We have regularly lost power from lightning storms this summer.
imschur Posted August 28, 2012 Report Posted August 28, 2012 Im thinking of getting a small Yamaha and adding a Tri Fuel conversion
george_995 Posted August 28, 2012 Report Posted August 28, 2012 Im thinking of getting a small Yamaha and adding a Tri Fuel conversionwas the tri fuel conversion in the link? Did not see.
unforgiven Posted August 28, 2012 Report Posted August 28, 2012 Tri-fuel is smart <thumbsup> Diesel is safer than gas around the house IMO.Get a couple of extra CO2 detectors to be safe.Didn't see info on tri-fuel? <dontknow> Glad your safe and sound in La. brother BLKSHEEP. :)
