Since shooting Greg's 7.62 OBR yesterday, I've been on LaRue's website most of the evening.  I've really been looking at the PredatOBR, of the pinned 14.5" variety.  Like a 7.62 version of the Costa gun.  <thumbsup> <laughs>

I'd be $200 closer to that right now, if Drew didn't have a 300BLK barrel showing up for me in two days...  :o

Yeah...I've been shopping too.

What is the make of that pencil-barrel you had?

Bravo Company (BCM).  It was a full lightweight upper. You can built the upper, just using that pinned 14.5" barrel, or just get the whole thing.  When I was building for the kid's birthday last year, separate parts were OOS, so I just got the whole thing.

Here's the complete upper - does not come with BCG.  Add the $45 option for the pinned/welded A2 Extended flash hider, to make it "all-around" legal.

Here's just the barrel:

Aawww crap!  Those last ones were for Savage rimfires and Remmy 700s.  Not sure how that happened.  <laughs>

Yeah, uh huh, sneakyman...  <laughs>  The Savage aleady has a Boyd's Tacticool, and the 700 has a Hogue overmold.  Those ones are good.  <thumbsup>

Tannerite is...  AWESOME!!!      :2nd:

Guess-timated 100 yards out, placed the target, and brought out the Mod 0 with some 69gr match ammo.  Greg says, "I don't know if "your zero" will be "my zero" on this rifle.  I said "Hey, brother, it's zero'd for 100 yards, that's about 100 yards out there - hit it."  He got down, sighted, pulled the trigger - AND THAT poop WENT UP!!!  <laughs> <lmao>

He's got video on his phone of the silliness, but those vids won't get posted until he gets back to MA and get's everything converted and hosted.  The last shot was a double-dose, too...  ;D <thumbsup>

The most interesting part of the shoot was when Rob gave Sig P220 pistol operational demonstration to the military boys. Everyone was watching and paying complete attention the whole time, group of maybe 20+ free lessons. One of the guys said while looking at Tom's table, "They got better stuff then we do !"

There's enough of us in reasonable distance we can do it fairly regularly.  Mikedaddy wants to meet in Marana, as it is more fair to him and Tom.

Very convenient for blue109 and myself.  <laughs>

Jon

That way I can get my neice's husband out there shooting with us.

The poor kid was having issues qualifying. He was trigger slapping the pistol and no one diagnosed it. I pointed out the issue and showed him how to practice his trigger control. I never did find out how he did.

I'm about 20  miles from Sky Harbor airport which is in the center of the Valley of the Sun. Tucson is about 100 miles south of Phoenix. Marana is on the north end of Tucson.
