Today is 10 years we've been married!  Seems like we're still dating to me...might feel like an eternity to her but she's still here.

We lead a blessed life and I'm looking forward to more!

Congrats <thumbsup>. We will hit ten in Sept. this year. Here in Cali, that is the breaking point. Up to ten years alimony is paid for half of the length of marriage....after 10 you pay til they re-marry. Still got a few months to decide.... <laughs>

So, what did we get the little lady?  I'm guessing it wasn't ammo. Though that could be romantic with the rarity of some of it....

Story time!

When we announced we were getting married (a couple of months after we met!), people associated with her family volunteered all sorts of services for free.  Approaching the wedding date, a few days before, we realized we didn't have a videographer.  She had an older but good camcorder, so her brother volunteered to film the ceremony.  She gave it to him the morning of the wedding.

After the ceremony and before the reception, he came up and said "The battery died just after you (her) walked out."  Bummer.  Especially since the pastor provided us with some kick-ass vows, which weren't the standard blather.

A few years into us being married, I emailed the pastor and asked him if he happened to have those.  He did.  I'd been sitting on them for 7 years.

Put them down on funky paper women like, in purple (her favorite color).  On a printer, so people don't think I hired a 7 year old, with my handwriting.  In funky cursive that women like so much.

That was her gift, a repeat of the kick-ass vows on paper, which she thought was lost to the wind.

Brought tears to her eyes and got me a squashing bearhug (it was before we took the girl to school).

Congrats Jon, I hope to there someday. Hope you have many more.

Thanks brother Greg!

From what I've seen, you two are well on your way!

It helped with both of us being older.  With her not having any kids and never having been married, that was HUGE for someone like me in my mid-30s.  Additionally, it was clear that we were both established in who we are and there wasn't any "changing" going to happen. lol

Communication is important, talking is hard sometimes, but it really stops a lot of bullpoopy later.  I trained almost my whole 20s for that and decided that was enough for a lifetime.

When we met in person, I'd just parked my Beemer and was figuring it would take her another 10 minutes to get there, as I'm always early.  A car pulled into the next spot with a hottie driving.  I thought "Control your leering Perve Pants!  Angie will be here any minute!"

Hottie got out of the car, looked me up and down, smiled and said "Jonathan?  I'm Angie!"

Dingdingdingdingdingdingboingdingdingding!!!  We have a winner!!

Made 30 last Nov. and it is my 2nd and last. First did nothing but bitch about the toys, 2nd never once.

Right-on Brother!  Mine doesn't peep about squat!

After women that bitch about me, my clothes, my guns, my vehicles, my home, my friends, my hair, my farts (wait...wife will complain about those), my relatives, I know now where home is...it is where my beautiful wife is!

Thanks Jon. It was this way for us too(except I had my very young daughter), and our 2nd each also, so we really knew what we wanted. Funny about the way you met, it was similar for us. We had agreed to go for a hike, and it ended up being 21* and a foot of fresh snow in Feb, and Heather was there happy as hell to be outside!  :love4:
