98Z5V
I have to wonder if you guys would recommend that Cali_Ed use a version of Loctite for holding the clock on the muzzle brake. FUK NO!
shibiwan
LOL..... so much for welding and/or pinning it on. Wonder what the rules in Nazi-CA are on that.
gnatshooter
Sorry... I want him to have a bit of success in holding the brake in position. Having options is good.
StainTrain
FUK NO! <lmao> You seem unsure.
StainTrain
Some Muzzle device manufacturers sell those shims & there is always a crush washer . This is the correct answer.
98Z5V
I used a crush washer on this one, NO LOC-TITE WHATSOEVER, and I timed it precisely. It's never, ever been a problem. I timed it to exactly 18:48:00, and it's perfect.

Rsquared
Rocksett for the muzzle device ............ at 18:48. Edited June 6, 2014 by Rsquared
gnatshooter
Rocksett for the muzzle device ............ at 18:48. Do you see that as alternative to crush washer/shims?
Robocop1051
I just started using Rocksett... I prefer to time mine to 17:48, but that's because I'm PST. I'm thinking of dropping the 24hr, and actually using 5:48 on my next rifle. I just worry I might mess it up and end up shooting PM at AM, or vice versa. Rsquared
Combination of shims and Rocksett. Shims to time the muzzle device. Rocksett to set it. Rocksett is an industrial adhesive. Sorta looks like krazy glue. Holds far superior to Loc-tite........any color.
98Z5V
Rocksett, always - if it's a suppressor host. If it's not a suppressor host, there's no need for Rocksett in the least. Not even a drop. Just make sure you time it right.
Rsquared
True. You read my mind. I was thinking of suppressors.

survivalshop
I used loc tite on a on Custom ( cut to my barrels outside dia. ) PRI Comp . to keep it on . Took a 0.002" shim to index to the right position & would come loose very time I took her on a range trip . Used Blue loc tite & it has been on there for years & no movement . What ever works . I've heard things about barrel torque induced by rifling, but nothing that required that much dangle of the angle.
