392heminut Posted May 4, 2014 Report Posted May 4, 2014 I gotta get me one of these! My shooting buddy got one and showed it to me today. I can sit out on the patio and shoot the damn flies with table salt while I drink my beer. :auto: Cheap ammo and I can fuk me up some pesky flies! Bet Tom ain't got one of these yet! <lmao> http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AB88UDA/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=20CWGPUS2CUJ7&coliid=IO0XVRGX0Z2BS
planeflyer21 Posted May 4, 2014 Report Posted May 4, 2014 I can hear my wife now…"Why am I finding salt everywhere?"
Microgunner Posted May 4, 2014 Report Posted May 4, 2014 I've had one for quite a while. Works like a charm. Hunting flies has never been this much fun and doesn't rupture the fly so no bug guts on the countertop. Here in Florida we get these big ass wolf spiders in the house. It does a number on them too.
98Z5V Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 (edited) There's a local company in Phoenix vending these - one of the guys at work picked up one this weekend. I will have one by this Thursday. I will have a pile of fly carcasses by Thursday evening. Better hurry, Larry!... Edited May 6, 2014 by 98Z5V
Robocop1051 Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 I wonder if they can be upgraded... Better spring. Better Piston/plunger system. Tighter bore on the barrel to increase velocity and range... maybe a choke?

washguy Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 You think "baiting " is allowed in Texas when fly hunting? :) Wash
Microgunner Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 You think "baiting " is allowed in Texas when fly hunting? :) Wash Baiting's not the problem in Texas, it's getting those damned tags in their ears that's the bitch.

Sisco Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 Had to order it, we have a fly problem every summer, might as well enjoy it.
gnatshooter Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 Welcome to what's likely the only site on the internet where people are talking about modifying the bug-a-salt gun and probably figure out how to make it good for out to 10 yards.
.308LiteHunter Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 50 shots before reloading! Dammit there's no way I could own one here in Colorado. ::)

98Z5V Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 There's GOTS to be a way to choke it, like a shotgun! MCDonald's drinking straw - that fat bastard. Determine your length to determine your yardage. You can make the thing a sniper rifle. <thumbsup>
Microgunner Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 What it does need is grip tape on the cocking piece. The plastic pump is slippery and it requires a fair amount of pressure to cycle. Luckily I had some scraps laying around.
Microgunner Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 what about a suppresser? <lmao> Wash Yeah. So it's easier to hear the fly's blood curdling screams. :-)
