ninjajimmy
Thank you guys! Ran it this morning. 60 rounds and it shot flawlessly. Zeroed at 100 for now and then went over and played on some steel. Looking forward to tweaking zero slightly and then shooting out further this week. Let the guy next to me take two shots and then I follow up with the third.http://youtu.be/Zhv6zCKXWxE?list=UUZUOmQxsHCIcaRm-DHx-aKw I made the mistake of going into the local shop afterwards....first suppressor here I come. Now the wait :) Edited August 23, 2014 by ninjajimmy

ninjajimmy
Thanks! Only thing left to grab was a charging handle and some more ammo. Decided on a BCM Mod 4 CH which I like to run on my AR-15. Scored some 168gr Match Remington Premier at a hair over $1/round. Comes in about .40 cents cheaper per round compared to the FGMM so we'll see how it runs.
Rsquared
If that's the AAC suppressor that I think it is. GO FOR IT! I love mine. And my 10 SASS loves it too.
ninjajimmy
Yeah it's the AAC 7.62 SD can. My Pelican came in and since I had a massive amount of stickers laying around figured i'd have some fun. I also cut the foam to fit the rifle, sling, and a couple spare mags. ninjajimmy
Finishing touches coming in. BCM Mod 4 charging handle (so much better than stock, which I already knew) Knights sights came in..digging them so far. Very low profile and out of the way. Rsquared
That's a first class rig you're building up there. No doubt. I LIKE IT!
ninjajimmy
So I just decided to toss my Surefire M600u on to the SR. Mounted on a Haley Strategic Dropwing mount with a Surefire rail pressure switch.

ninjajimmy
It's perfect for CQB. I don't know what you're talking about....

Lapp7660
Sounds like I'm doing the same build for the same reason; I scored two of the SR-25 receiver kits. If I need some advice or help is there anyone that I can contact directly ? Thanks.!
survivalshop
The M1 Garand was used in the CQB . wonder what the weight comparison is between the two . Just saying . <laughs>

Thanks.! www.boltcarrier.com is a very popular Knight's armorer and has been putting together a lot of SR-25 builds together for people like you who snagged up the sets before the ban.I buy the majority of my Knight's accessories from him. 392heminut
Lapp, if you have any questions just post them up here and I'm sure you'll get your answers. We have several guys here that are gurus of the 308 AR rifles!
Lapp7660
Since I'm doing my first .308 upper build with the same .308 upper you used I have a couple of questions. I noticed you used a .308 bolt carrier group; are there specific bolt carrier groups that will work with the preban upper ? If I use a DPMS BCG do I have to use a DPMS patterned barrel ? I want to be safe and certainly not get hurt. How do insure the head space is correct ? Lastly, will I need specifically a Knight Armament barrel nut no matter what barrel I use ? Thanks. Thanks. You'll need to get a BCG that matches the barrel extension of whatever barrel you get. If it's a LR308 (DPMS) barrel you'll need an LR308 BCG, if it's an AR-10 barrel you'll need an AR-10 BCG.You'll need an SR-25 specific barrel nut. Boltcarrier.com has the SR-25 specific URX 3.1 rail in stock.
Lapp7660
Another question. I got the Rainer Arms 16 inch barrel with the 1:11 twist. Would I have been better off with a 1:10 twist ? I have to receiver sets so I figured the second one I could go with a longer barrel and a faster twist rate for heavier bullets. Does this make sense ?
