Cali_Ed
So before No one mentions the elite haha what are you guys running? I'm looking at the ggg xd tactical. Optics planet has a 10% off sale and free shipping
edgecrusher
I have harris, but that ggg is a nice piece
gnatshooter
One thing I've noticed about sights on my DPMS LR-308T is that, with iron sights set 2.5" above the bore, cant has a tremendous effect on accuracy. I would imagine the same thing would happen with someone using a telescopic sight where the optical center is 3.5" above the bore. So, I would think that the ability to 'zero' the bipod to horizontal would be pretty critical. Are bipods generally built so that the shooter can easily orient the rifle to the horizon? From what I've seen, they generally are not. From what I've seen, only Elite Iron offers a bipod that easily deals with cant.
blue109
many bipods have the ability to cant slightly. enough for most target shooting situations. I have an older GGG xds1 and like it. it's the QD model so I just swap it between rifles. I also have a thing for AZ companies. Cali_Ed
I also looked at atlas but the price jumps up. They look well built
DNP
Get the gg&g. You will be very happy with it. (I'm sure you won't be 'elite' happy, but hey...none of us are).
Cali_Ed
The atlas is 11 oz vs 15oz, the only thing is thought the ggg is qd and atlas is not
DNP
Will the 1/4# matter that much? If so it's like lingerie for women...less costs more. Luckily, we are in California and can only have 10 rounds in the mag. That makes up your weight difference and then some. survivalshop
If Cant is a problem , use a rail mounted or scope mounted bubble level . Edited June 26, 2014 by survivalshop

DNP
Zip ties are for Wusses. Use duct tape. ....or if you're really hardcore, gorilla glue.
