One thing I've noticed about sights on my DPMS LR-308T is that, with iron sights set 2.5" above the bore, cant has a tremendous effect on accuracy. I would imagine the same thing would happen with someone using a telescopic sight where the optical center is 3.5" above the bore.

 

So, I would think that the ability to 'zero' the bipod to horizontal would be pretty critical.

 

Are bipods generally built so that the shooter can easily orient the rifle to the horizon? From what I've seen, they generally are not.

 

From what I've seen, only Elite Iron offers a bipod that easily deals with cant.

Will the 1/4# matter that much? If so it's like lingerie for women...less costs more. Luckily, we are in California and can only have 10 rounds in the mag. That makes up your weight difference and then some.
