Finally had the cash and was in a good spot to get the rifle ive wanted to get since I first shot its sibling. The Mossberg mvp308. The 223 is a consistent sub moa rifle with my rolls so I hope its brother shoots as good. And all my 308 mags fit perfect. Here it is till I get behind the trigger this weekend.

I shot that .223 MVP and confirm the sub 1/2 MOA. If the .308 shoots anywhere near as good, that will be one sweet rig!!!

I was tempted to mention the sub half with my 53gr vmax loads but figured I didnt feel like being called out lol. Best groups that happen somewhat often are in the .4 range.

That .223 popped so light, you can actually watch the little .22 cal holes show up in your target. If you put your cross hairs on the target, that's where the holes go..

Do they offer a lightweight .223 tapered barrel that uses AR magazines?

Maybe with a birdcage on the end.

I believe they all have that medbull barrel but have several different options on barrels and stocks. They have the 16.25 and 18.5 are offered in threaded

I measured the barrels on both last night and 5.56 was .745 and the .308 was .765 both at the crown. So they arent too heavy of a barrel

I just checked with one of our wholesalers and can get the 5.56 MVP Patrol with flash suppressor and compact 3-9x32 illuminated retical scope for $593.

Is that scope worth a damn?

Haven't shot the factory-offered scope, so I don't know.

 

Got my MVP 5.56 with no optics, and it's only had the 3-9x40 Nikon BDC on it, and I permanently switch that out to the 3x-fixed Nikon BDC Carbine scope.

I think I'd rather buy a known optic with QD mount than invest in what is probably a questionable scope.

Now I think I'll talk myself into it.

Same I got without optic. I put the p223 on mine and its dead on with the reticle. Put a Bushnell elite on the 308 till I have the cash for the m308

5.56 MVP running regular Federal M193, 55gr FMJ ammo, 100 yards, right after zero of the BDC Carbine scope.  It was zero'd at 50 (to coincide with a 200 zero), and these are the first 5 shots at 100 with it. 

 

With the 1:9 twist on the barrel, it does great with the lighter ammo out there.
