  1. Thought about that but noticed they have the same two options on their 13.5 inch target barrel. I hope to get a response from them, the old Armalite was always forthcoming with information, the new owners hide behind the export ban when not wanting to share info.
  2. Welcome from Iowa, via Pensacola! What does it feel like going from chamber to muzzle? How many rounds? Possible they put extra effort into lapping the area at the gas port, just a wild guess on my part though.
  3. Not yet, few thousand more rounds and I'm going to send it in to Sig for their Father's Day special on the action enhancement package and have it done they. If not this year then next for sure.
  4. Just noticed these 18 inch rifle length gas barrels for AR-10's with a 1:8 twist. Anyone heard of running this twist in a 308 before? Purpose? https://armalite.com/shop/ar-10-308-18-target-barrel-black/ They also have 1:10 twist on an 18 inch rifle length gas barrel, I may just have to grab one, with well over 3,000 rounds on my AR-10 barrel and the increasing scarcity of manufacturers making barrels for it it can't hurt to have another ready to go.

    Welcome from Iowa, via Pensacola!
  6. I used to be a 45 ACP man and it would still be my choice in a few circumstances but the Sig MK25 converted me to a 9mm fan. I can get more rounds on target much faster with it than I can with a 45. Even with a similar capacity that takes reloads out of the mix it boils down to being able to get that front sight back on the target faster with the 9mm. 18 and 15 round Mecgar mags in a 226 have never failed to function for me.
  7. I gather it functioned fine before the trigger swap? Sig uses a proprietary BCG, hell about everything on it is proprietary except the stock and grip! My 716 made three trips in for work till it functioned....so far. I have not swapped the horrid factory trigger yet due to this, don't want to have to swap it back if it has to go in again. Troubleshooting online is hard because Sig keeps changing up parts from time to time, like the dual extractor set-up. I follow the rifle section on SigTalk, many there have changed to Geissele triggers without issue but I do not recall seeing anything on Elftman triggers yet.
  8. In 2008 I got caught up IN a Mardi gras parade. Just minding our own business and next thing you know all the side streets were jammed full of people. We were stuck behind a panel truck handing out water and snacks to LEO. You would have thought one of them would have helped us off the route but we were totally ignored, had to travel the route through to the end.
  9. A small chunk of grip tape strategically placed will help minimize the dents.
  10. They ruined a billion dollars worth of roads and bridges in Iowa a few years back because they held too much water in the Dakota dam system then got big rain and had to let it go. It was all predictable with a record snowpack but they held the water back anyway because they didn't want to disturb the nesting Plovers. Ended up washing away all the nests anyway. The lady with the corps of engineers that made the call ended up with a promotion, your government at work.......

  12. What happened is they were swallowed up by Bass Pro. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-10-03/cabela-s-agrees-to-be-bought-by-bass-pro-in-5-5-billion-deal
  13. Neither my 308 or 5.56 Matrix builds have had any issues with charging handles. I have used the Mech Armor CQB and the Raptor on the 5.56, BCM gunfighter on the 308. I'm hoping to put the Mech Armor on the 308 build as soon as they are in stock again.
  14. I have a few Geissele triggers but the Larue MBT is every bit as good for a lot less money. It should fit without issue but it might pay to ask them first just in case.
  15. Forgot I have a MI heavy duty QD adapter on the PM400 I keep with me. Measures 1.135 inch so that would be a little thick for your purpose. They have another model that is smaller, might be worth checking out. edit; The smaller one must be the 1/2 inch that Shepp is referring to. Doesn't sound like either will get you the 5/8 inch you are looking for.
  16. Midwest Industries makes a QD sling adapter that clamps the buffer tube and has the socket for the butt stock lug, not sure on the thickness, I have an extra at home I can measure and check for the socket fit on an A2 stock.
  17. You can add the adjustable butt plate for a longer pull; http://www.luth-ar.com/product/mba-3-axis-buttplate-assy-adapts-to-all-mbas/
  18. Do what MrMackc says, it needs to lock back on the empty mag. That info can help separate if it is too much or too little gas.
  19. Welcome from Iowa, via Pensacola! Is the bolt locking back after you fire a single round from the magazine?
  20. For me it is about speed. When I'm trying to get groups out at a fast pace I can get back on target quicker with a lower X.
  21. Looks like I better run it through a case gauge before I even try it.
  22. Did the bolt just not lock up or did the round nose hang up on the feed ramps?
  23. 200 rounds of GRIZZLY CARTRIDGE 300 AAC BLACKOUT 220GR HARD CAST LRN SUB-SONIC , hope it functions in the pistol! http://palmettostatearmory.com/grizzly-cartridge-300-aac-blackout-220gr-hard-cast-lrn-sub-sonic-ammunition-20rds-gc300bl-r2.html

    Grilling

If you want a bit of tough old starter from Bahrain just PM me. I can let mine sit in the fridge for 2 weeks and it will still crank out a great loaf. I feed it a half cup of flour every two weeks while sitting in the fridge not getting used.
