    Rain

    Should have known, just can't rely on the forecast anymore, nothing but clickbait!

    Rain

    Same here, rained all day. Looks like you may get a break today but we will still have the tail end pissing on us. We have lost almost a full month of work time now, makes managing a construction job easy though, the reports are all cut and paste "No work due to rain and high water"
  3. other than being an embarrassment to those around him. Amazing what federal employees can get away with since it is so hard to fire them, unless of course they get caught with a 3 inch blade!
  4. His fire kits are nice as well. Can’t wait to see where he goes with this new line of knives.
  5. Congratulations to Brother Jacob on his YT channel reaching 10,000 subscribers! If you guys are not subscribers better get with it.

    Rain

    I use blousing rubbers like the military had me use and soak my boots with 98% DEET. Keeping the pantlegs up also keeps them out of the mud for the most part. Still get those ticks that attack from higher elevations though............

    Rain

    Living right on the Current river now, the ticks are out and have no respect for DEET!
  8. Nah, happy just puttering around in the outdoors............ federal government is full of agencies, all of them broken.
  9. I don’t remember the number off hand, give this one a look, rock solid, returns to zero just as good as my ADM mounts, and is masterfully machined. And it has a built in, tritium lit, level built in. http://shop.aadmount.com/AADMOUNT-34mm-AADMOUNT34GIII.htm
  10. You’re gonna love that scope. 👍 Have you picked a mount yet?
  11. Started to EDC this ESEE Izula about six weeks ago and have loved it. It fits in my pliers pocket just right, easy to grab but stays just out of site and in place, maybe a headstand would drop it out but don't see that happening anytime soon. Biggest benefit I have seen is the fixed blade, a truly beatable knife at .156" thick. At 6 1/4 inch overall with a 2 5/8" cutting edge it fits my agency restrictions on knife size for carry at work. This one has their black oxide finish, much better for everyday cutting tasks compared to the textured powder coating they offer. It is 1095 high carbon steel but I have not seen any rusting issues. It has a fresh stropping on it in the pictures but will quickly develop a patina on the exposed steel after some use. The handle scales are optional but for EDC a must have in my book. These scales are from The Knife Connection and made of G10. I still need to get a seal on them so I don't have to take them off for cleaning, for food use I don't want any grunge growing under the scales, I will be using some silicone under them to seal it up. I find the steel very easy to sharpen to a hair popping edge and it holds up very well, a great balance between ease of sharpening and edge retention. I'm an all in ESEE whore with no shame!
  12. Learn What Is To Be Taken Seriously And Laugh At The Rest double dry hopped IPA from Evil Twin Brewing in Connecticut by Westbrook Brewing Co. Mount Pleasant, S.C. Pours clear but clouds fast with lots of floating debris. A sweet melony aroma, a little malty. Flavor follows aroma with a melony peach. Finish is a mild astringent bitter and clean. Feels pretty watery, drinks easy. A very one note mild IPA for being double dry hopped.
  13. They have some AR-15 versions of their TRIM rail on the 75% off section now, had shown out of stock in the past. These are rock solid rails and under $80; https://shopwilsoncombat.com/75-OFF-SALE/products/1128/

  15. That's the hardest part for me, dealing with what father time deals out to those you love. Mom called this last weekend all upset, she was in the grocery store parking lot and didn't remember going there or even why she might be there. Been watching her go down hill for a time now but things like this really hit home.

    Rain

    Had the same rain here in SE Missouri last week. My jobsite last friday as I left, rather got chased out, it came up another foot; Thought I was going to just squeak by getting to the house on the river; Ended up turning around and taking the long way home as the road under this water was already sloughed off making it a one lane in dry weather;

    Season opener

    Good times and good eats! 👍
  19. Too short by a little, as usual for PSA. The gas tube should ideally end in the center of the notch but many have not had issues with there short tubes.
  20. Uncommon Stout from Bent River Brewing in Rock Island, Il. Has a nice toasty coffee aroma. Has some coffee notes but mostly a smoky, toasted malt flavor. Smooth and creamy but still easy to drink. Actually a common stout flavor but that’s a good thing.
  21. I should have said the latch pin, same as install but in reverse;
  22. Pull out on the latch then while holding it out slide the stock off.
  23. Work time was minimal, doubt it was two hours altogether, the thing ran from the get go. I never track the money, I know it was inexpensive relative to other builds. Most of the parts were bought on sales or were blems like the receiver set. Rough estimate just under $1,000, if one were to just buy all the parts in one weekend it would cost more. This includes the Cerakote job, the sling and the 51T muzzle device but not the optics.
  24. Odds are it will be cheaper and easier to just get another barrel/bolt set and keep the original, Armalite sells their barrels cheap enough just get yourself on the notifications list for the barrel you want. https://www.armalite.com/product-category/ar-10-parts-accessories/barrels-2/
