    End of an era

Polaris was Minnesota, I believe. Thank God Wisconsin still has Oshkosh industries.
  2. Works. PA scope is an excellent choice.
  3. There was a discussion about this a while ago with a barrel exploding. Found this article on loaded rifles at Gettysburg. https://www.wearethemighty.com/articles/almost-every-rifle-recovered-at-gettysburg-was-fully-loaded-and-no-one-knows-why?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=Organic4&utm_term=History&utm_content=almost-every-rifle-recovered-at-gettysburg-was-fully-loaded-and-no-one-knows-why
  4. Wisdom good advice for all.

    Grilling

Tony’s has been a standby for me since 84’ visited my father in law in Biloxi and he turned me on to it.
  6. Tickets arrived. My internet is down, so I just logged on.
  7. I have two “B’s” and a lot of magazines, but can’t see a use for a third one. Really is dumb, because the Armalite Gen II mags are among the best in the industry. Pricey, but indestructible.
  8. 6" barrel is a heck of a lot more accurate in a revolver. I like the S and W Model 28. N frame same as the 44 magnums. And check out the Diamond D chest rig holsters out of Wasilla Alaska. https://www.diamonddcustomleather.com/collections/holsters
  9. I have given some thought to chambering my AR10 B standard rifle in 260 Remington. From what I understand the biggest roadblock is fine tuning the gas port. 98 has already been through that however, and has me thinking about it when I get an extra $700 for a barrel.
  10. They look a lot like the infrared plates on my Char Broil. Which actually work. First time I have gotten a propane grill to 550F. Have started to do reverse sear out of necessity down here due to limited equipment. But actually works quite well. Looking good Shepp!
  11. Son and I both chase deer with Savage 30-06 bolts. I think I had a stretch of 15 straight years taking a deer with it. Started passing up shots when my son started hunting with me.
  12. Funny, I feel the same way. Still prefer my two A2 butt stocks to the fancy stuff on my other AR’s. Will probably change back sometime.
  13. Beautiful legends!

    My class 3 guns

Nice! Must own a hedge fund to afford ammo!
  15. Truth. Only ones I use.
  16. $2.69 Sam’s in Florida. Drove a company car for 32 years. Never paid a dime for insurance, gas, maintenance. Was billed $25 a month for personal use. Saved me $100’s of thousands of dollars. Wife had one too with the same benefits. Quite a few were 4 wd SUV’s in the day when they still had good off road capability. The places I took them and the trouble I got into the company and their insurance carrier wouldn’t have wanted to know about. Got a stupid rule the last five years that you could not transport firearms in a company car, even cased. Till then we had some reps out west coyote hunting from their cars between sales calls! Probably why they started it.
  17. You and Matt got all mine.
  18. Amen
  19. Truth. All of the politicians all of the time. NO exceptions.
  20. NOAA’s stuff is generally top of the line. Had some experience with them on the Great Lakes. That kind of work can give you a hell of a reputation.
  21. Belt fed has a point. But another thing to consider, my Radical Arms 308 Blk came with a 16 inch barrel,, but is a pistol length gas system. And indeed, I shoot it suppressed with a non-adjsutable gas block with absolutely no problem with many different loads. I think that for 300 Blk the pistol length gas system might indeed give you a bit more flexibility.
  22. Cute!
  23. This is going to be fun. If you decide to attend, mention it in this thread so we have an idea of numbers. Right now it looks like 6 of us for starters.
  24. I can only go with my personal experience with two AR10 B’s that were unmodified from the factory, and each has in the vicinity of 1,000 rounds through them, mostly M118LR or equivalent and M80 standard NATO. Neither has ever excessively deformed or tore brass. Once you change barreling I can’t say what will happen. I suggest checking the archives to see if any one has reported AR10 brass deformation in the past. Good luck, it sounds like a very interesting build.
  25. I will win of course because that will give me a friggin duplicate!
