  1. My Wilson 16" 6.5 creedmoor barrel shoots less than MOA But w/American Gunner sub 1/2 MOA. They make great barrels.
  2. Dave bought a CMMG 6arc w/3 mags in fde for less than 1k. So he is not building.
  3. Faxon 12.5" barrel 7" rail I thought would look good now not so much. I'll order something else. LaRue MBT2 trigger. BCM grip 308 muzzle break w/flash can. Bolt from 65grendel.com Bolt carrier from PSA CMMG lower parts set w/ambidextrous safety. SB brace. Wilson Combat gas tube. Generic gas block. Found 2 boxes of Hornady Match ELD's Just need to decide on optics and a new rail.
  4. Welcome from KY.
  5. If you search the site you will find several threads about what a pain the captured recoil systems are in 308. Yes you can go with light weight components and cut back the gas BUT it will probably only run w/1 or 2 loads. If you want lighter weight build a pistol. I have 2. 12.5" 308 pistols. They are quite a bit lighter than my rifles and out to 3or400 yds they the job done quite well.
  6. You have a AR 15 midlength gas tube. The one you want is the Armalite carbine tube. It is longer than the AR15 midlength gas tube.
  7. Light and low recoil don't go together in a 308. Consider a 6.5 Grendel or 6 ARC. In the smaller frame Ar-15.. All that light weight stuff and fancy captured recoil parts is going to be a pain to get to run right. And when it does it will probably only run right with 1 or 2 specific loads.
  8. Just ordered a pistol barrel from Faxon. Have everything else for a build except an optic. Now to find some ammo.
  9. ^^^^^^ What he said. I have this setup in 2 308 pistols. If they show out of stock on the web call them.
  10. https://www.cdnnsports.com/bushmaster-xm15-build-kit-black-with-quad-rail.html
  11. CDNN has Bushmaster kits less the barrel, BCG, gas block, and gas tube for $499. Bear Creek has BCG as of yesterday. Faxon had barrels and so did Brownells.
  12. They were just starting testing on the M1's at Ft Bliss when I left there in 78.
  13. Seen it . Don't know WTF it is.
  14. Colt has been in and out of bankruptcy and receivership for years. CZ took over Dan Wesson a few years back and they are still making excellent guns. Probably a good thing.
  15. Can you lock the bolt back by hand? If so how about a picture of where the bolt catch is holding the bolt open. You might need a different bolt catch.
  16. We have about 1/2" of ice everywhere since Wednesday. Expecting 2 storms between now and Tuesday pm. Up to a foot of snow expected. Work was soooo fun sliding around the lots with semi trailers.
  17. The gen2 p80 Glock frames I just finished were easy. I used a pocket knife, egg beater type hand drill, file, and a dremel. No milling like the first gen stuff. 2nd gen has metal rails in the rear too.
  18. The bolt catch is supposed to catch the bolt NOT the BCG.
  19. https://www.strikeindustries.com/si-ar-udc-308.html The 308 is larger. Strike also makes forward assists on colors.
  20. If you have a vise and a couple of empty 45acp cases they make the ejector install easier. A 45 case fits the bolt head and will collapse the ejector enough to get the roll pin in. The other piece of brass goes over the tail of the bolt. It helps if there are two people. Another set of hands.
  21. Rural King here in town has 1 on the shelf. Rkguns.com they will ship to your FFL or a local rural king if you have them up there.
