Looking for a true semi-automatic .308

Both were replaced. Brand new 10/22 and brand new 77/22... plus scopes and vouchers for two boxes of .22lr ammo (although, finding those boxes is akin to finding Bigfoot).

It's like trading in two old rifles and getting $1,000 in new ones. I doubt there was $500 invested in the original gear. All the new gear is perfect.

Glad to hear your horror story had a happy ending

I plan on making up for it with copious quantities of shredded beef tacos the next time he is here.

Works for me! I will probably have to bring my own salsa though, you Arizona fukkers can't make salsa for schit (except for Tom probably). <lmao>

There's that place in Las Cruces that has this awesome salsa. Just go buy that and bring it along with you.

What are you whining about?  Flavor or hot?

Poco & Mom's hail from New Mexico, their salsa won best in town last year. Probably will this year too.

My buddy who works out at Raytheon makes his hotter than most like.  Made a batch with ghost peppers, left it unattended in the breakroom to go wash his hands.  Guy took a super scoop of salsa on a chip, cried for half an hour, yelling the whole time that my buddy set him up.

Probably either Dick's Cafe or Chillito's and I have their salsa in the house all the time. It's the only off the shelf salsa I buy anymore, even though I have to go to Las Cruces to get it. <thumbsup>

It's not always about the heat. I like my salsa hot, but not so damn hot you can't taste the fukkin flavor, that's just stupid hot!

  • 1 month later...

Wanted to update as I got lots of help, and really good advice.  I have decided to go with a DS Arms FAL.  Would love to go all out FN, but I don't want to put that much in yet. Having it done in all flat dark earth with some good glass in the scope.  The barrel is stamped .308 now for the next item on the list... 50BMG  :sniper:

About  2 months ago I wondered into our local gun shop and spotted a beautiful .308 AR on the wall and couldn't help myself I had to have it and to make a long story short I purchased it.  It's a Windham Hunter with the Nutmeg Laminated wood stock.  I've also got a very nice Armalite AR-10T and I can't complain about either rifle.  Windham Arms is made up of the previous Bushmaster employees that didn't want to move to NY.  Can't say I blame them but the craftsmanship is wonderful and you can tell they take pride in their work.  Now to follow on to what Timbuck2 mentioned about the next item on the list 50 BMG.  I've had one for several years now and they will put a very big grin on your face and any friend you let shoot it.  I spent all Sunday afternoon on our bulldozer making a 1000 yard range at my place where I can really put my 50 to proper use.  Shooting 100 yards off my front porch with it is kind of a waste.

Some of the best times I had at PENDLETON was shooting a Ma deuce off the ring mount of a five ton prime mover 6X6 at a 55 gallon drum of gasoline set up on the range hill with 1 in 5 tracers. Didn't need tenninite.
