unforgiven Posted July 10, 2015 Report Posted July 10, 2015 DD products are badass.Any Idea of price ???
blue109 Posted July 10, 2015 Report Posted July 10, 2015 Brownells has the DD 308 flash hider for $15 daily deal.
Spartan Posted July 10, 2015 Report Posted July 10, 2015 DD is quality stuff. I have one of their blackouts.
survivalshop Posted July 10, 2015 Report Posted July 10, 2015 (edited) Brownells has the DD 308 flash hider for $15 daily deal. I'm getting one in a shipment today , but I paid more than twice that for it , on sale . The Mitigator is the name , I believe. Thats looks like a Mid length Gas System & a 16 " Barrel ? Edited July 10, 2015 by survivalshop
blue109 Posted July 10, 2015 Report Posted July 10, 2015 Almost jumped on it, but I want a comp. No point buying something I'll swap out later if I can help it.
Rsquared Posted July 11, 2015 Report Posted July 11, 2015 I'll be interested to see this (yes, yes...even being the Armalite pusher). Daniels makes nothing but outstanding equipment. And the punishment that they put their stuff through for durability testing is amazing. When they say that they want to get it right the first time, you can pretty well bet that they most likely will do just that.
D.R.D. Posted July 11, 2015 Author Report Posted July 11, 2015 They will definitely give brands like LMT a run for their money in the battle rifle dept. I'm guessing they week start around $2500 if they confine to use the CMV chrome lined barrels.
Robocop1051 Posted July 11, 2015 Report Posted July 11, 2015 I think the current DD barrels are all CHF and Melonite/nitride treated.... whatever they are, their damn nice. I have the LW 14.5" mid on a Colt
D.R.D. Posted July 11, 2015 Author Report Posted July 11, 2015 All DD barrels are chrome lined except for their S2W (Strength to Weight) heavier barrels that are nitrided
blue109 Posted July 11, 2015 Report Posted July 11, 2015 Thought they were moving to all coated barrels, and that's why they had all those barrel sales recently. Getting rid of the chrome lined ones.
Robocop1051 Posted July 12, 2015 Report Posted July 12, 2015 I just reread all the barrel descriptions and they say nothing about chrome lining... yet they do mention nitrite treatment...
D.R.D. Posted July 12, 2015 Author Report Posted July 12, 2015 They must have already changed over. It'd been several months or more since I've looked at their site.
D.R.D. Posted July 16, 2015 Author Report Posted July 16, 2015 From their site: "All Daniel Defense cold hammer forged barrels are made from start to finish in our state-of-the-art facility located in Black Creek, GA. In keeping with our heritage of not cutting corners, all cold hammer forged barrels feature a forged chamber and heavy phosphate exterior coating or Salt Bath Nitride Finish. These barrels will prove themselves to be more accurate and last longer than a barrel that has cut or button rifling. Inside Finish: Chrome"

survivalshop Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 Just what we need , another proprietary 308AR . More duel Ejector's, wtf ? The price is in line with the top line 308AR's , nice rifle , but so are the others . I just don't think another proprietary rifle is needed , I'm sure its made better , its why its proprietary . I'm sure they know more then me about the market for 308AR's , but I don't see them selling large numbers of these rifles .
Magwa Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 Have to agree with you on this I think they are cutting their own throat except for the elitist who will buy them no matter what, imagine a battle rifle and no extra parts for a thousand miles.... talking civilians here.... not only that but how much are you paying for that Giesslee trigger when you buy it in their rifle as compared to getting it yourself and installing? and agreed WTF dual ejectors? NO thanks .... over and out P.S. JUST what the F--k cost 2 thousand bucks more than a brand new Armalite or DPMS I mean what do they do to make it so expensive?
392heminut Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 P.S. JUST what the F--k cost 2 thousand bucks more than a brand new Armalite or DPMS I mean what do they do to make it so expensive? The name on it bro! It's kinda like Harley Davidson T-shirts, putting Harley Davidson on the shirt automatically transforms it from a $10 t-shirt to a $40 t-shirt! I don't buy Harley t-shirts either!
survivalshop Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 (edited) Probably not all in the name , but close . R & D probably had something to do with the price . I still have almost all the HD T-shirts that people have bought or gave me over the years & I would never buy one . Besides , almost all of the T's are Black & I don't wear that color in this heat & Sun , so they sit I'm my drawer , like a safe Queen .?? Edited October 8, 2015 by survivalshop
Magwa Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 I get it really I do but man I just don't get it !!! :)
Crankbait Posted October 17, 2015 Report Posted October 17, 2015 Well, the DPMS Gen2 Recon has dual ejectors - and I've put about 5K rounds through it since early 2013 with no issues. Eats and ejects everything - which is notable for a .308 AR. I think DD is just getting on board where the market is going. 556 just doesn't cut it for battle / larger game hunting and the 6.5, 6.8, 300 blackout, 458 socom, 50 Beowulf, etc. etc. just don't have the ammunition and reloading chops that the venerable 7.62x51 has had in place, both in NATO military and commercially - for decades.Besides, the Brits and Americans in Afghanistan have been incorporating more 7.62x51 battle rifles into their operations, and as a major DOD small arms vendor IMHO this makes sense for DD.
Crankbait Posted October 17, 2015 Report Posted October 17, 2015 Here's the dual ejectors that DPMS has used for a few years now on the Gen2. I've put at least 5K rounds through mine and it eats and ejects everything - which let's be honest can be a problem for 308 AR's.
