Trumpet
Ok, so I got a great price on a 15" AP custom handguard. However, I need a bipod stud for it. Anyone know where I can get one, or a different one that would work?
jtallen83
Is it threaded? If so what is the thread pattern ?
shepp
I would assume brownells would have something?
survivalshop
Photo's of the Hand Guard . There are many ways to attach a Sling Swivel Stud , if thats what you are referring to . Need to see what you have , I assume you have an Areo Precision HG .
Trumpet
Pick of stud... http://www.gamaliel.com/APCustom/APCBS_Bipod_Stud_Fits_APC_Handguar.asp Pic of HG...The HG also has the same slots/cuts along the 6 o'clock portion. https://jtdistributing.com/store/ap15t.html
98Z5V
If it's M-LOK compatible, just get the one from MagPul. It's aluminum, stout, and works great. https://www.magpul.com/products/firearms-accessories/rails-and-accessories/m-lok-bipod-mount

98Z5V
This looks pretty close to M-LOK slots, right here. Maybe call the tube manufacturer...

survivalshop
Looks like no slots on the bottom of the HG to put anything ,MLOk or other wise . Needs to be drilled out & a custom or universal stud can be used . The one in your post should work , though I personally would like to see a wider foot print on the backing plate . Never heard of this AP Custom co.. . Also , do you have a pre 2009 rail height on your Upper receiver ( High ) , Because your rail height on that HG will not match up with a Low , post 2009 DPMS rail height . Trumpet
There are slots in the 6 o'clock position. The AP stud is nowhere to be found as the co. went tits up. They made very good stuff though, popular with the 3-gun crowd. I think what killed them was it was too much of a niche market combined with their prices... I emailed Lancer to see if their bipod stud would work. It looks almost identical, and they make great stuff too. Its going on an Aero M5 upper. Robocop1051
I don't know this company, but this is the style I buy and modify to work. http://www.johnmasen.com/AR15-Handguard-Swivel-Stud-Bipod-Adapter-p/tar231.htm

I'm sure the Plates could be modified . Edited October 10, 2016 by survivalshop
Robocop1051
It's the same style the mil originally used on the old CAR handguards. At one point I had 5 or 6 of them laying around. The steel is soft enough to work with yet still do its job well. I have this exact stud on my .308 APEX HG.

In case you are puzzled, shitbags at Cheaper Than Dirt used the Sandy Hook shooting as an opportunity to cancel all standing orders on AR and "high-capacity" related magazines, then jack prices up to what you see posted here above on those screen shots. CTD deserves to go out of business.
