Hello all!   New guy to the forum.  Newby gun guy here and want to learn as much as I can about the 308 AR platform. I like building things and have been basically in the automotive area building Mopar musclecars and hotrods for 30+ years. Found out about your site on line.

Recently built an AR15 and love the platform!  Saw that I could build an AR 10 in .308 caliber and was intrigued. Now in the learning mode.

So, get ready for some incredibly stupid questions.

Don't worry, these guys are very used to hearing stupid questions, stupid answers, and dealing with stupid people....but enough about me. Welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the warm welcome!!!  As I said, new to the "gun building" arena.

I know a lot are going to say I should just buy one and enjoy, it will be easier and probably cheaper in the long run.  But that's not me. LOL  I have the same problem with cars, I like the building part.

For those of you that served our country, I thank you very much for your service!

And, hello everyone from western Wisc.

And, hello everyone from western Wisc.

Ha another wisconsin, take that Arizona and Texas!!!

Take time to do some reading, remember there's no milspec like their little bothers and there are a few propitiatory paterns, "DPMS" being the most popular.

Reading here has been all I've been doing for the last few days here. But thanks to an auto accident years ago, I have short term memory loss. So, I am probably gonna forget most of it and ask stupid questions anyway. lol

btw, how do I get an avatar?

I don't watch much tv. I cant stand the liberal media and it just pisses me off. So I am much happier person without the news.  LOL

And howdy!!!  Have friends down there.

Watched a semi driver rip the front right side of his semi off on a parking lot light piller in st chroix, he didn't understand frist come first serve don't matter when your hauling the last thing needing to be unloaded. He left in a hissy fit but didn't get far.......

yeah I think you are right shepp, I like to consider myself more west than central though because I don't like Madison. lol.

I think of centeral being like tomah to like Stevens point and the dells to like Wausau  ish. Madison is its own location "tprom" the people's republic of Madison lol. Then you got the driftless area the west/south west part, fox valley, door country, east side (Milwaukee Kenosha, Racine) where I am south centeral, the rest is just gods country "up nort" lol
