i couldn't fix the link. My suspicion is you've included the http as I have often done with the same problem. Links back to our site. Try again, or post up the data on the two you're looking at

Both will be great barrels. The only benefit the 24" will give you is 50-60 fps. And it's only really a benefit if this is going to be a bench gun.

So I guess I will save 250.00. Thanks

Faxon barrels any good? Figured I'd ask here. About to that stage of the build, need to decide on barrel and rat hole some cash for it.

If I was gonna buy a barrel it would be a faxon or criterion. Not just because they're active here, but they have many many happy customers here

 I'm a Criterion fan ,Faxon is a good choice  but I use Wilson Combat Barrels on my AR 15"s & their 308 Barrels are on sale right now

What is the difference between chrome lined and stainless? One better than the other?

Chrome lining came about after fighting in wet, humid climates, in a time when stainless steel wasn't a viable option in the manufacture of firearms.  The chrome helps to prevent rust and excessive wear, as compared to a non-lined steel barrel.

My preference these days is for either stainless or melonite coated.  In another 20-40 years the military will spec out one or the other over chrome.

Chrome for durability, stainless for accuracy, melonite/Nitron/QPQ best of both worlds.

I've been very happy with Criterion barrels, and the two Faxon barrels I have are top notch as well.  Can't go wrong with either.  Wilson Combat is on a short list, and one of their match barrels will find a home on one of my builds very soon.

I was just looking at the Faxon barrels. With the recommendations from you guys and seeing the very reasonable prices I think I found my barrel.
