LouEVIL Slugger Posted January 14, 2017 Report Posted January 14, 2017 My name is Chris. Have a small gun collection and wanted to dabble in the .308 world. A search brought me here. My ignorance allowed me to make a purchase of an AR-10B and didn't realize there were several kinds of .308 AR made.
EngrBob Posted January 14, 2017 Report Posted January 14, 2017 Howdy from the Texas side of the borders.
SNKEBIT Posted January 14, 2017 Report Posted January 14, 2017 Welcome!!! Western Wisconsin here. Freeekin cold!!!!!!!!!
beantown Posted January 14, 2017 Report Posted January 14, 2017 (edited) Gotta welcome anyone from the land of Bourbon! ? Here's a warm wave from North Carolina. ? Edited January 14, 2017 by beantown
jtallen83 Posted January 14, 2017 Report Posted January 14, 2017 Welcome from Iowa, via Pensacola! Tell us more about that AR-10B, I bought mine in 2011 and it has been flawless for several thousand rounds. Is it brand new or an older one. The recent change of management has caused us Armalite fanboys to be a little more curious about what is coming out.
LouEVIL Slugger Posted January 14, 2017 Author Report Posted January 14, 2017 (edited) Thanks everyone. Yes I love bourbon! Picked up this Armalite for $500, was given an opportunity and jumped onto it. Didn't realize it was an older one, or the fact that 308s are not like ar-15. Wondering if I made a good purchase. Decent shape, has some nicks and scratches. Nothing major tho. This is a first where I did research after a purchase. what do you all think? LouEVIL Slugger Posted January 14, 2017 Author Report Posted January 14, 2017 I haven't even shot it. Just got it Thursday night.
98Z5V Posted January 14, 2017 Report Posted January 14, 2017 That is a screamin' deal! Well worth every penny, and a whole lot more pennies. Good purchase.
SNKEBIT Posted January 14, 2017 Report Posted January 14, 2017 WOW!!!!! Don't you feel a little bit guilty for stealing that gun?
Rsquared Posted January 14, 2017 Report Posted January 14, 2017 500 Bucks? Damn! That's one helluva deal there my man. Welcome aboard from Maryland Chris.
unforgiven Posted January 15, 2017 Report Posted January 15, 2017 Welcome from Indiana brother Chris, hell of a deal on that Armalite.
jtallen83 Posted January 15, 2017 Report Posted January 15, 2017 Give you $600 for it? You bought an excellent rifle for a great price, they sell from $800-$1100 all day long on the used market.
LouEVIL Slugger Posted January 15, 2017 Author Report Posted January 15, 2017 Well glad I got a good deal. Was worried about it being an older version, and the magazine issue. Just to be sure, the only things I have to worry about not working are magazines, boltcatch, mag release, and BCG? Hand guards, triggers, stocks, everything else works, correct?
LouEVIL Slugger Posted January 15, 2017 Author Report Posted January 15, 2017 Unforgiven, are you in southern Indiana? Have you ever shot at that free outdoor range?
unforgiven Posted January 15, 2017 Report Posted January 15, 2017 I'm northwest corner. You thinkin Camp Atterberry. I think that's free.
LouEVIL Slugger Posted January 16, 2017 Author Report Posted January 16, 2017 If it's in southern Indiana then probably, has an old fire tower you can go up in and see for miles in the same park
Sisco Posted January 16, 2017 Report Posted January 16, 2017 Welcome from Northern Wisconsin. You got a great deal. Don't worry about the magazine issue. Gen 2 B Armalite mags are a good, reliable tough magazines. Just pick up a few when you see them for sale. When you get that kind of a deal, you can afford a few extra mags.
