This happened in my home town, actually not to far from Paul Ryan's house. I guess they're catching a lot of shit on Facebook for taking an hour of "job time" to play hockey with these kids, I say good on them they left a good impression on these kids that will last a life time. Actually saw the kids playing there the other night at like 9pm and was alil surprised, but I guess it's better than sitting in a couch staring at their phones.

When growing up , they would have yelled at us & threatened us with arrest if they had to come back  & I didn't turn out so bad .:laffs:

Was that when you were playin jacks in the middle of the Appalachia trail?

If someone is complaining about these guys doing this on paid time, they just need to put it down as community interaction relations....whatever it is called.   I can think of way more worse things to spend time doing, and wasting the paid hours.

 For the officers!

We were smart enough to not play in the street & block traffic !:lmao:   Where I grew up there were parks that people did things like baseball , flag football & such , I guess the innershity doesn't have such things .  :laffs:

Any people upset by this are the same people upset when a gun is used to save people. They have an agenda to push and things like this dont stir the pot or rile up the sheep.

Haha!!! My son Josh got into a game of tackle football at a local park back in his highschool days (no pads of course). The game ended when he broke another player's collarbone on a tackle. My wife and I were sitting on a bench watching the game and when the kid went down my wife heard it snap! That wasn't the first one though, he broke his best friend's arm playing tackle football in my older son's back yard when they were freshmen!

I broke a kids nose playing black yard football, knee/thigh vs face, I just remember blood, lots of blood.

My mom told me when she was In HS she was at the park watching her brothers play football and watched a kid bite the tip of his tongue off when he got tackled

Josh shall be hereafter affectionately known as "The Bone Crusher". I think it is fitting.

Matt, his buds actually started calling him that after the second incident! He told his mom he didn't really like it though, he felt kind of bad that it happened.

I would've given my left testicle for a nickname like that, I get sh!t like "Peanut"...

He did like the 'Dozer' nickname he got when he played Pop Warner football! I explained to him that instead of looking at the guys in front of him trying to stop him he needed to focus somewhere down field past them and concentrate on going there. Once he got the concept he would plow up the middle of the line every time they gave him the ball! It was a blast watching those kids play football!

NIcknames are a funny kinda thing. The first thing is, that you can't give yourself a nickname. The second is, you're probably not gonna like the one given to you......at first that is.....until it grows on you. .

Yup! I got tagged with 'Lurch' back when I started the PD by one of the best damn cops I ever worked with! It stuck and has been with me for over 35 years.
