Hurricane Irma

Sounds like the southern US is going to get another kick in the nuts. You members in Florida, stay safe and hope it misses you. Harvey guys, I contacted my Senators and Congressman and basically told them they better be  front and center on getting aid for Harvey victims passed quick even if they are from Wisconsin. No excuse not to get it done. They can do something useful for a change. Our thoughts are with you as well.

The hard part will relief bills like these is that you get "relief" for the spotted owl habitat in Oregon and the dung beetle study needs funding, etc...  Those are made up but you get the point.  A lot of the relief money goes to someone's pet project nowhere close to where the need is.

But yes, money and manpower is needed to get things back close to normal.

Those damn Texans started fixing things and taking care of each other instead of waiting for the government.  Don't they know there are bribes that need to be paid off?

Texans after Harvey have been a role model of helping each other that the rest of us can admire and emulate when our turn comes.

Better add some water, non perishable food, meds, first aide kit somewhere in the house. And, like was said earlier, all above what may end up being the water line. Trust me when I tell you the waters rise fast, and the winds will come for you. It ain't pretty afterward. Supplies will NOT be coming in for a few days. You WILL be dependent upon yourself and your supplies for survival. And, if you have plenty, help your neighbors brother. I'm real proud of how Texas handled up on Harvey. Shucks, we're still doing it. The effects will be long lasting.

Easy , you have too much room in that Safe :lmao: Need to do some shopping   Be safe Brother , this one is going to be nasty & looks like its path is on my side of the State , but it will effect all of us here .

My wife sent me a photo of I 95 on her way to work , nuts to Butts with cars heading north , Rest area was over flowing with cars . Never have seen it like this before , this storm is making people think for a change .

Hopefully it will head out into the Atlantic  I'm inland a bit , but between the ST Johns River & the Intercostal .

That stuff I have plenty of. For water, my hot water tank is 80 gallons (seriously, special order item), and my one bathtub is a "Corner garden tub" which is about 90 gallons, and i'll fill it if things start to look crazy. Plenty of canned goods, beans, and my house + grill are on city gas, which they never shut down because turning it back on is nightmarish

There are a few things in there that aren't obvious, like a takedown 10/22 and a bullpup 10/22 but you're right, I need more in there. Mostly I went over ammo vs rifle for the "what order do I use these in".

Glad to hear from you, when you weren't posting your usual early morning I figured something was up. Since the water didn't get you I bet you actually have flood insurance!

No flood insurance , never seen it like this before , famous last words . Me thinks sand bags are in my future .
