I think I’m gonna build a 9mm rifle....

Screw it. It’s just money. If it doesn’t work we’ll donate it to charity. She needs all the help she can get...she’s one of those Tuesday night B-team kind of strippers.

Next big decision is the trigger. I’ll take the suggestion that it needs serious pins...so that’s solved. I put the MBT in my son’s 22 and it seems nice. I don’t think I like it as much as theSSA-E, but there’s a hell of a price gap there too. Haven’t shot any other G triggers than the dedicated marksman and the SSA-E.  Super 3 gun?  What’s that drop in @washguy likes?  Or save the money and go MBT again?

Or, save money, and try that new Aero Precision 2-stage nickle-boron trigger. I have enough rounds on that shorty 12.5" .308 to definitely say that I like it. It's good.  That first stage isn't LaRue, but it's a good trigger. Broken in a little, now, that first stage cleaned up a little.  Smoother now - definitely not saying it was bad before, though. Just a good trigger, and a great price.  It's the same $$$ as the LaRue, around $80.

EDIT - DAMN!  They chopped the MSRP by $10!!! It was a $79.99 MSRP, not it's showing as a $69.99 MSRP!

I’ll take your word. Trigger ordered and the JP stuff is in. Now I gotta dress this pig.

if the trigger isn’t quite what I hope, I have another gun it’ll go great in that currently runs a simple LPK trigger.

Damn. Spend a bunch of money and then Primary Arms puts up a good deal on a Foxtrot Mikes upper. Like 369 for complete upper with BCG like @DayWalker mentioned. Well crap.

It's only money.  You'll make more.  :lmao:

Wait you just had a new son.  How do you have money?  You know the weight listed on diapers is not how much crap they can hold, right?

I’m just.... off. I don’t think it’s my timing.

This kid is a machine. I’m spending every dollar I have before Pampers claims it’s all.   Kid turns breast milk into diapers all day. He just filled another while I’m typing this. Kid in one hand and cell phone in the other.

on the plus side, I found another stripped lower in my safe. Not sure where these keep coming from. I’ve got two Anderson’s, a Spikes and a Kaiser Defense. Yay.

Well hot damn, glad to see you have the same luck I do haha. Usually I’m the one that buys something and then it immediately goes on sale. Primary Arms will randomly just unload those FM uppers like that, hell the one I got even came with an unmarked Radian Raptor charging handle for around that price. On the plus side, the other parts you’ve been talking about seem like high quality stuff. Not sure about that short stroke BCG, but honestly I don’t know anything about them. I do have to agree with the idea of don’t add complicated shitt though as a general rule.

Oh ... “don’t complicate shiit with complicated shiit” Is almost the motto for this place and regularly preached by the great 98. I tend go against that grain. Like I said....I’m a little off.

I like your panache, and laud your stubbornness...   I'm here, brother, when the walls come crashing down.    We'll figure it all out, and get it running.   :hail:

I have faith...and one hell of a safety net. I’m up for it.

At the end of the day, it’s a blowback action. How over complicated can it really be? Maybe I shouldn’t say it like that, someone will take it as a challenge.

I know @Robocop1051 is gonna CRINGE, and HATE ME...  but the CMMG Banshee system is pretty badass, for 9mm.  "Delayed Blowback" operation, and that little fucker uses what looks like a standard AR15 BCG, complete with a rotating bolt.  GPJohn built one, and we ran it a few weekends ago - and it ate every kind of ammo that we threw at it and into it.  Even weakass steel-cased stuff.  It's a good platform.  Mag conversions available, so you convert your AR15 mags to run the 9mm ammo.  This thing just didn't stop.

Bring the wrath, Rob...  :popcorn:I'll take the pain...  :bitchslap:

I think I’ve already spotted a potential flaw in my system, but won’t know until some parts arrive. I’m not sure how those mean arms mags are going to do with a PCC upper or a short stroke system. I might wind up needing a dedicated lower to make the pricey shiit run properly. Cheap solution on the lower is gonna bite me...I’m betting anyways.

As long as the BCG is supposed to work w/Glock mags you should be good to go. The mean arms inserts work with Glock cut bolts not the colt cut bolts.

I have been wanting to see that delayed blowback in person.

Best price I've found for a dedicated lower;

https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-px-9-forged-stripped-lower-with-mag-catch-assembly-ejector.html

I've got 2 and they work, one on a 9mm build and one on a 40 S&W build. I caught the first one on sale for $99.

That’s a pretty good price, seems like most of the dedicated lowers are way more than they should be. The KE arms lower I used for mine was like $150, maybe more I don’t remember exactly. It’s billet, but honestly I don’t care for that anymore than forged.

PSA???  Now you’re just trying to make sure we have issues to work out.

Believe it or not I’ve had zero issues with any of my PSA builds/parts. Now with that said, I haven’t touched that abortion known as the PA-10, just played with their 5.56 stuff. As far as I know, their 9mm stuff runs fine, though they do throw out the disclaimer their 9mm specs may be different than other makes.

I’ve always heard PSA is great with the 5.56 stuff and I’ve had great customer service from them on things I’ve purchased in the past....but. I’ve seen a lot of the crap from their 308 here and have not been impressed with their handling of it.  I picture a PSA CMMG bought at CT...(I won’t even finish their name) as being the absolute unicorn of schitstorms.

Yeah I certainly agree with you on the 308 side and their complete silence on the matter. Seems like they’re just hiding from people that purchased that stuff at this point.
