I would OWN that newspaper in very short order.  I'd go in the doors as soon as the lawsuit was final, and I owned it.  I'd be a complete dickhead in a company speech, make everyone go outside and face the building.  I'd burn it down, then fire everyone.

At that point, I'd wash my hands of the total piece of garbage that they had become.

Well, the logic they are using is "Everyone has a right to know where evil guns exist in their neighborhood."

They're just too stupid to realize that criminals will now say "Thanks for the map to where I won't get shot, SUCKERS!!"

poop like this is why I'm against firearms registration.  It's also why I'm against states that require registration.  I will never live in one of them again.

Just consider the source NY. Is this country really sinking that low ? are the people of NY so out of touch with reality they would allow this to happen? I am glad I live in a state that is all about gun ownership...

yep, i live here in NY and it sounds like another bullcrap move! was gonna get CCW permit but glad i didnt. sick of this state but got a fair job and ret. cant leave just yet. drives me nuts!

This is my local paper and I'm on their list.  The worst effected are the 8,000 retired cops that had their name and address published.  The paper has a clear anti-gun agenda.  NY state senator Ball has introduced legislation to make this a crime, but it won't prevent the damage that's already been done.

The paper has stated that they will release more names once the other county's FOIL requests are returned.

I wouldn't know first hand, but this tactic must have come right out of the Communist Manifesto.

Must be nice to live in a country where the press is free and unbiased.....too bad none of us live in that country.

An update on this paper:

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/01/02/newspaper-decision-to-out-gun-owners-sparks-all-out-battle/

Ironically, that paper has now hired private ARMED security for their business...

It would have been VERY FUCKING FUNNY AND KARMA-BOUND...  had every armed security company in the area declined their hire-offer, based on a moral, ethical, and intestinal fortitude ground.

"Nope, Im sorry, based on the grounds of the personal morals, ethics, and intestinal fortitude of every employee at this company, we have to decline your offer of employment, based on a lack of desire to work for people such as you - who have ZERO morals, ethics, and abso-fucking-lutely NO intestinal fortitude.  Have a great day.  We wish you luck..."

A person can't tell me that the security guards posted to that job didn't have their name/address published by that same paper.

Kinda like when working corrections..."Fight!  That inmate that said he was gonna rape your daughter is getting his ass kicked!" <sigh>

Stand-up...look around...yup...down on the ground now getting stomped...where's my radio...oh yeah! Silly me...same spot...is this thing on the correct channel?...better clear my throat..."Officer Jones to control"...is that his NOSE over by his EAR?!..."Control"...man, you'd think that guy's leg would be getting tired...not to far from the firehose...can hose off the sidewalk..."Control to Officer Jones!  Go ahead!"  :fawkdance:

I wonder just what sort of threats the paper has been getting...or if they're just scared.

Here is NY proposed legislation on updating the "Assault Weapons Ban"

reason declared unconstitutional or invalid or ineffective by any  court

of  competent  jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity

or the effectiveness of the remaining portions of this act or  any  part
