cliffg
looking for input here gents, i am looking for a bipod and was considering a t-pod. anyone using this and how do you like it. i like the fact that it give a second vert grip for off hand shooting and then fast switch for prone. i also like the clean look of not having the legs and springs exposed like on the harris style. thoughts, pro and cons? cliffg
has no one here used this type of grip/bipod? i dont want to spend a c note just to find out it sucks.
edgecrusher
Tried one on a friends rifle, I am not a fan of the verticle grip being so big, I like the Magpul AFG, and generally go for the Harris type, but to each his own. george_995
I'll second against the grip pod. Used one for awhile, I wasn't impressed with function and aesthetics of the grip pod. For $150ish I would put the money toward a better system such as quality bipod w/ forward grip behind it, if you fancy the grip option.IMO <thumbsup>. Robocop1051
:puke: :puke: :puke: :puke:Worst idea ever... Half assed vert grip due to the size... Half assed bipod, also due to the size.If you don't like the springs a gadgets, check out the VLTOR ModPOD
Moby
I've been searching for the right bipod and the VLTOR Modpod looks promising. But $190 for the product is just way over priced. One of the things I like about them how ever id mounting them farther back on my hangard. I do not have a freefloating type and am concerned with accuracy. I'm thinking mounting as shown on their website moght help with that. Thoughts??http://www.vltor.com/modpod.htm

But $190 for the product is just way over priced. If you're interested in the ModPod, I have a brand new set (black) that are barely used. I swapped them out a while ago and they are just collecting dust. I'll give you a decent "pre-stupid 12/14 mania" price.

StainTrain
It is tough to beat Harris bipods. I know that they don't look as cool as the others, but they function as advertised and are built very sturdily (if that is a word). You can load the heck out of a Harris and abuse it and it will still give you service. The BRM-S is my favorite. I have it on my duty rifle and all of my personal precision rifles. imschur
For me it's Bobro, GG&G, and Harris. The Bobro is brilliant in design but hard to get and pricey. The GG&G is my "Go To" on heavy rifles. Harris is all I used until I found the GG&G. I love the Harris, imitators not so much. Harris offers the best value IMHOI absolutely HATED the Tango Down Advanced Combat Bipod.
Matt.Cross
Atlas. I gotta try an Atlas. Those are some sweet, sweet looking bipods. They might suck like a college grad trying to get a job on Wall Street, but I will get one and find out for myself.
planeflyer21
I'm telling you guys, that GG&G QD Bipod is identical to the Weaver Tactical Bipod I have, only it has the GG&G QD lever. The WTB has a thumb-screw/wingnut type attachment.Same price usually, Sportsman's Warehouse had them on clearance for 50% off.Jon
Justintoxicated
Atlas. I gotta try an Atlas. Those are some sweet, sweet looking bipods. They might suck like a college grad trying to get a job on Wall Street, but I will get one and find out for myself.I have the haris on a larue QD mount. I loved it until I saw my friends Atlas. Now I want an Atlas lol.
Matt.Cross
I have the haris on a larue QD mount. I loved it until I saw my friends Atlas. Now I want an Atlas lol.I have that exact same setup! <thumbsup>

Matt.Cross
Me too, can't find any fault.I still love it even though I'd like to try an Atlas. LaRue QR kit is good stuff. I like to watch the reactions of people when the range goes hot and a field stripped AR goes from disassembled to stacking bulletholes in 60 seconds or less. I'd like to have a 10% cut of everything LaRue has sold based on my range trips... <laughs>
Justintoxicated
Me too, can't find any fault.I think the Atlas was lighter, and has more options and adjustment as well as a similar QD lever. The quality appeared better too, although the Haris isn't bad, just that the Atlas was better. Plus he had the monopod for the PRS stock, and there's nothing like having a matching set :)
Rsquared
I'd be interested in trying an Atlas too. I've currently got multiple Harris bi-pods on different AR-10's. To me, they're pretty durable and I've never had an issue with them. But I'd like to give an Atlas a spin.
Magwa
Well I am not seeing any love for Grip pod but I love it on a hunting rifle and it does not matter what you are hunting it is fast and great for that one shot when you need it and it works great for sighting in and it is light and functions as a good, not great ...but good forward grip... it is my story and I am sticking to it
blue109
Any thoughts on the versa pod? I have rifles with rails and with studs. Would be nice to just have one bipod and buy a few different bases.
98Z5V
ADM pic-mount base. <thumbsup> I use those to mount the Harris bipods on rifle with a pic rail. Love 'em.
