imschur Posted May 11, 2013 Report Posted May 11, 2013 It looks like we are rounding the bend. Brownells is filling backorders with vigor. Im seeing Gen3 PMags, handgun ammo and even .22lr from CCI and Federal regularly coming in to stock. JSE had ASC 308 mags for about a day. Many retailers still overcharging on ammo but PMags are mostly priced where they should be.
Rsquared Posted May 11, 2013 Report Posted May 11, 2013 And it only took 6 months (to date of course).
Tripledeuce Posted May 11, 2013 Report Posted May 11, 2013 2:30pm, found 5 boxes of Federal 9mm ball on the shelf at wallyworld. $13,95 a box! Terry
shepp Posted May 12, 2013 Report Posted May 12, 2013 I bought 3 boxes of CCI 22lr tactical last week at Walmart, they has 8 boxes total. came back a few hours later thinking I could score three more boxes and share with some friends, it was all gone. The light maybe at the end of the tunnel but its still pretty faraway....
shepp Posted May 15, 2013 Report Posted May 15, 2013 Some of our local stores got in a pretty good shipment of ammo this week. one of the guys on a local board I'm on was spouting off about how the "shortage" was over and this and that. I did all I could from calling him an idiot. Until I can walk into gander mountain or a couple local stores and see full shelves, it ain't over. I think we maybe at the peak or over the peak but I ain't getting excited yet
seasprite Posted May 16, 2013 Report Posted May 16, 2013 I'm with shepp on this at least in my area the shelves are still empty unless your a gouger and when places like Walmart do get stock its gone in a matter of minutes. Did manage to score a box of Fed. auto match .22 the other day from a friend that happened to be at Walmart right when they were stocking what they got in on the truck that day <thumbsup> Hopefully the end of tunnel comes up quick.
bubbasks Posted May 16, 2013 Report Posted May 16, 2013 How the shelves at local store have looked even through this crap.
bubbasks Posted May 16, 2013 Report Posted May 16, 2013 (edited) That was last week. Much more inventory in the back room and on the ground in cases. Edited May 16, 2013 by bubbasks
Armed Eye Doc Posted May 16, 2013 Report Posted May 16, 2013 Cabelas online has some 22LR right now. $50 for 1000 or $24 for 500 (different brands). http://www.cabelas.com/catalog/browse/rimfire-ammunition/_/N-1100192/Ns-CATEGORY_SEQ_104536080?WTz_l=SBC%3BMMcat104792580%3Bcat104691780

I don't make is to local shops much but we have a store that's local called farm and fleet size of a small Walmart carries hunting fishing, lawn and garden, farm auto clothing and house wears. They have a 4 box limit and latly they've had more then usual but its alil of this lil of that. Like I've said I work for Walmart I service 40 stores in sothern wi northern il, the past few weeks there really hasn't been much lil this lil that was at a store last night in Rockford, I was able to pick up a bit of .380 for a friend went back this morning and it was all gone. Part of it is people are still hoarding, but I still think that light is a twinkle.
Armed Eye Doc Posted May 17, 2013 Report Posted May 17, 2013 As much as I dislike WalMart as a general rule, I have found ammo there with some regularity. They have not changed prices from before the poop started. I got 300 rounds of 45 for $100 last week.
Powerman Posted May 17, 2013 Report Posted May 17, 2013 Wow... I went to one store today and their cases were full. They had black rifles on the wall. But that isn't the amazing part.... they let me buy a 50 rnd box of 7.62 surplus, AND TWO boxes of 45 ACP!!!! Holy Crap... it's like Christmas!

W-Mart shelves picked clean besides premium hunting loads such as 300wm and etc. Forget about pistol calibers. :tweed: I generally do not buy factory ammo, except for 12ga shells and personal defense rounds, I have been reloading for a long time. Local shops of this area still at gouger's premiums. Been noticing on Florida based forums that in the large cities shop prices are dropping and inventories being replenished. Thing that kills me, is this bullsh!t snow balled over to reloading. :sad3: Edited May 18, 2013 by george_995

IowaFClass Posted May 18, 2013 Report Posted May 18, 2013 I am still having trouble getting reloading items. One of my coworkers stopped by my desk and said he has a connection for primes in stock. I was able to get 5000 small pistol, but still looking for CCI #34 and 41 primes.

unforgiven Posted May 23, 2013 Report Posted May 23, 2013 http://www.lohmanarms.com/category_s/1830.htm Got this tip from brother Greg. Was able to order 22lr..Didn't seem like a limit ordered 20 boxes @ 50 eac..Shipping was $25.00
Madhouse Posted May 24, 2013 Report Posted May 24, 2013 Yeah, big shipping cost! I put an order together and the shipping was $48!
gunbunny Posted May 24, 2013 Report Posted May 24, 2013 If all this gets sorted out, anybody who owns a .22lr pistol or rifle should have their head examined if they don't get a case of ammunition. Not a brick- that can be gone in a day if you are having fun- but an honest 10 pack of bricks- 5000 rounds. If they don't then they are just going to repeat the cycle over again the NEXT time this happens.
sketch Posted May 24, 2013 Report Posted May 24, 2013 My pipeline just died I-5 bridge over the skagit river collapsed damn my luck I'm headed out tomorrow to stalk up.

Happened in '94, a bit less in '96, a little more (here at least) for the 2004 election, big time in 2008, and now this one. If we hit the Powerball, I'm setting up a rimfire production line and running it 24/7/365. People that buy from us regularly will get the same price all the time. During shortages, they'll be the only people to get product. Jon
