Thanks everyone for the suggestions, we will definitely keep them in mind.

NC/SC = close to my in-laws in TN, but far enough they won't visit all the time. I'm happy, wife's happy. :D

Ravenswood, WV (or close to it) is an option too. That puts us right by our metal suppliers (Kaiser)!

Idaho... still not looked there yet but I like what I see.

Yes and the humidity here will make you feel like you're back in the jungles of S.E.Asia packing that m240. Lmao.... my wife's from the Philippines and she can't stand how hot & humid it is here in South Louisiana.

The humidity is good for the skin!

I keep hearing commercials on the radio about Idaho, almost making me want to move there.

Nah.. It is overrated, consider moving to New York or Conneticut, any where but Idaho. You wouldn't like it. Hunting and fishing is too easy, right out your doorstep. You need more challenge, like trying to find a good rifle range in New York City. With a freezer full of fish and game, you get lazy, and very very picky as to what you will shoot. Nah, you don't want to consider Idaho. Plus everybody is live and let live. How do you get into a good arguement? (Except DPMS vs Armalite vs KAC as to which is better, that's good for an arguement anywhere). Plus they get winter, but its not an insane winter like the Northern Great Plains. Man i better stop, I am convincing myself.

Magwa has definitely changed my thinking about living in this state, I'm staying here but now I try talking everyone I encounter into moving to Idaho, where they won't have to deal with humidity or fleas/ticks/chiggers. Enjoy your new neighbors Magwa! <laughs>

...aaaaaaand.

You don't shovel heat.

You can move into Shibi's house...  <lmao>

I honestly couldn't give a moving recommendation - there's SO MANY fukked up states you can go to.  There are SO VERY FEW good states you can go to.  Shib, you're already in one of the good ones, so your decision can't be easy.  Based on that, I honestly don't know what to try to add, brother...  <dontknow>

Where ever you decide to go be wise in your choice and enjoy your new life.. a move always gets ya going..... and makes you feel young again....

LOL.... 5300 sq ft on an acre plus lot that's close to town, yet far away enough from the crazy. Not many of places like that left in AZ the Phoenix suburbs. You can buy it when I put it up for sale.  <lmao>

It's going to take a while to decide when (not IF, but when) we move, and you're right about how hard it is. Still shopping around to see what states are OK. With all the crap in CT going on, not sure if other states will follow suit.

The initial thought was I can get much more value for money, real estate wise, if I sold what I got right now and bankroll the cash into something cheaper elsewhere.

I would like to recommend Missouri but I don't know what the tax laws are like for a business. The fishing is good the deer hunting is good and this is a free state although Kansas City and St. Louis are full of FSA types the rest of the state is pretty friendly. We have heat & humidity, winter is cold with some snow but not a staggering amount. Lots of lakes for fishing oh I mentioned that already  :))
