ninjajimmy Posted September 5, 2014 Report Posted September 5, 2014 (edited) Just picked up my new scope for my bolt gun and am so impressed! Since I have no rifle yet to mount it on I figured i'd bust out the gear and get some shots of it. So far my impressions are: - Weight - Heavy, compared to my other scopes i've owned. I don't feel that is a negative. It's nice to know I can club someone with it. - Reticle - EBR-2C MOA - I like it. Originally I was going with a 1C, but decided I didn't want to wait for one to arrive so I jumped on this 2C locally. My first MOA scope. - Turrets - Oh man! I love how large and low they are. Very positive clicks and being able to lock them is a plus, and I like the rotation counter. - Glass looks wonderful. Very bright, clear image. Noticeably better than my PST 6-24x50 FFP and my PST isn't half bad either. - Illumination - Almost perfect I think. Very crisp and plenty of settings for any situation. - Magnification - great range!I mean that's why I bought it over the 3-18. I can't see needing more than this in any shooting situation I will be in. On with the photos! The 6-24x50 that I compare too is getting mounted to my SR-25. Edited September 5, 2014 by ninjajimmy

washguy Posted September 5, 2014 Report Posted September 5, 2014 Sweet Ninja ! I was so impressed with the vortex line that ive been getting rid of all my Nikons except for the m-308's. I would get rid of the m-308's but the holdovers are so handy and accurate, that i just hate to part with em I made the mistake of looking thru a guys vortex's at the range....he had a pst ...which was nice, but he also had an HD razor...daamn that scope was freakin nice! Ninja you did good! :) Wash
ninjajimmy Posted September 5, 2014 Author Report Posted September 5, 2014 Thanks. I've had a 6-24 previously and liked it. This 6-24 is going on my SR-25 to see how I like it. The Razor HD Gen II are in a different league. Everything I've read and heard says they compare to scopes hat cost $1,500 more. They are very hard to find and get right now. I got lucky to find this one at my local shop.
unforgiven Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 Nice glass brother Jimmy, hope you get alot of service from it.
ninjajimmy Posted September 6, 2014 Author Report Posted September 6, 2014 Got the PST mounted to the SR-25. Seems slightly high, but it actually is perfect. Also got to toss my can on for the photo since I still have a long time to wait for the paperwork.
D.R.D. Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 Drool....Not sure if you've seen this series of testing : http://precisionrifleblog.com/2014/07/01/tactical-scopes-field-test-overview-rifle-scope-line-up/ We were hoping he'd include your scope, but they weren't available at the time. He may to a second round including the new Gen IIs, plus Tangent Theta (Premier) and maybe other S&B's. Amazing rig you've got. Looking forward to some range reports!

MONTANA308 Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 Ya I've heard vortex hit a home run on this scope. I want one of these for my 300 WM bad.
Robocop1051 Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 Vortex HD scopes are all hogs. I really wanted that 1-6x, but it's damn near 2 lbs. I absolutely love the clarity though.
98Z5V Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 I've been searching out this scope since this post. I think I'm fucked now... I love it.
D.R.D. Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 Just got to look though this one next to a S&B, Vortex PST, and a Bushnell HDMR, side-by-side. This one really stood out: http://www.kahles.at/kahles-united-states-of-america-usa/products/k624i/k624i/ I'd love to see it next to this new Vortex and the up-coming Tanget Theta (reworked Premier)
unforgiven Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 What I'm seeing is more reitcles of the Hourus type that would minimize dialing up.
D.R.D. Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 Yeah, the Horus concepts really seem to make holding over (or under in the case of not having to dial up) that much easier. It's the whole concept that Todd Hodnett seems to emphasize at Accuracy First.
survivalshop Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 I've been searching out this scope since this post. I think I'm fucked now... I love it. 3 #'s , now I'm really glad I will never pay that much for a scope . I'm sure its worth it though . <thumbsup>
ninjajimmy Posted September 10, 2014 Author Report Posted September 10, 2014 If you get board, you can always work your biceps with it... <thumbsup> Rifle is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow so fingers crossed. Looking forward to mounting it up and getting it dialed in soon.
edgecrusher Posted September 10, 2014 Report Posted September 10, 2014 Rifle is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow so fingers crossed. Looking forward to mounting it up and getting it dialed in soon. Ride em' cowboy!
ninjajimmy Posted September 11, 2014 Author Report Posted September 11, 2014 It's pretty sweet! Can't wait to get some ammo down range.

MONTANA308 Posted September 11, 2014 Report Posted September 11, 2014 Dammit I want one! I just spoke for a 5-20 razor gen I from a friend of mine. It's going the the Sps tac 308. I'm fucked I want this one bad. it's a damn good thing cattle prices are at an all time high! Good looking rifle ninja!
