  1. If we avoid normal life , the Mooselimbs will have won some of their goals here with out doing anything . The fact that the a$$hole that's in the POTUS chair is going to do nothing to stop these animals & is just waiting his term out . He has accomplished more for the Commie cause then any invasion could have . He is helping his brothers out , bringing them here as refugees . Plus keeping the Borders wide open for them to just walk across . Who knows how many are already here waiting to do the same here as in Paris , so much for banning all firearms & having to rely on their Government to protect them , but being the sheep that they are over there, they will just say its an isolated incident & its not a failure of their system . I believe its all Berry's fault to begin with , if he had kept a force in Iraq , Isis would have never be where its at now , so all the blood from Paris & the others here that are followers of the Isis movement , are on his & his advisers hands , wether they like it or not . As far as their women ,they will sacrifice them where they are & they will gather more here to use as they need ,to speed their movement .
  2. The Key hole round might have been a bad Bullet or it could have been damaged while feeding into the chamber . Hard to tell . Who made your Bolt, could be a over sized Firing Pint Hole , the GII's all do it . Have to remember that with building a rifle from different Manufacturers Parts , that, they may take a while to settle in. Unlike a Manufactured rifle where all their parts are designed to be mass produced with their components that have been tested to make them easily mass produced by normal factory type workers with out a Gunsmithing back ground .
  3. The Upper Receivers Barrel's extension flange seating area is a machined surface & any imperfections are the result from Finnish coating on the Upper , I see no problem lapping it to make sure there is no coating material on it . I lap all of mine lightly . I have never seen a Barrel extension that had to have the Upper Receiver Heated to get it to accept the Barrel . Where are these coming from ?
  4. Sierra makes a 135 gr. match king bullet , should be close enough to use . Unless you really want the exact bullet , that is . That Bullet looks almost like a Barnes Bullet .
  5. Have or check the Chambers Head space , to start with . Photo's of the split in the case ,would help.
  6. The Remington R 25 GII I would assume is just a GII with Camo . We will be waiting for a review . The GII seem to be working out , so far , the only complaints have been Cratered primers. http://www.remington.com/product-families/firearms/centerfire-families/autoloading-model-r-25.aspx
  7. I have a Nylon trifold , so I can wash it ,if my a$$ gets it to smelling or the moth poop gets old ?
  8. Its all about the right combo of reloading components & a Chronograph will help record the right recipe . You should have no problem getting 2900fps with a 130 gr. In shorter Barrels , I would to use a faster burning powder to make use of the limited burn time . I have no data on the lighter side of a 308 , I don't go any lower than 147-150 gr. , but if you have the bullets , just do some start up loads with different powders to see what you come up with . Keep it safe , just about any power you use for the normal 308 Bullet weights will work , just have to find the one that works best of them . I would use the LC , stronger base & will let you go to higher pressure then the thinner WW , although I have used them with test loads . Use a CCI Milspec primer or depending on powder , even use a Magnum primer .
  9. I also think it was because the anti hunting a$$holes were interfering with hunters & now they can be prosecuted for interference & fined .
  10. I know your feelings on Luck , we have been over that before , but where I hunt at , when Gun season opens , you will be lucky to see a Deer during shooting hours , you can call it any way you want , but its just a word , describing what happens , that Elk could have turned around & you may never have got a shot at him , that would have been bad luck .? I also say your a lucky man , because you don't have a hunter on every ridge around you , you will be using more than your lay of the land to bag a nice deer , Thats a fact .?
  11. I could have sworn we were talking about AR 15 rifles in 300BLK caliber ! I too will call your zero leading of the Barrel BS, sure , if you fire a few rounds & clean it with coated bullets , you won't see much , but all coatings wear off the lead projectile upon going down the barrel , of course this all depends on the barrel length , a short barrel will not see as much as a longer one , a had polished match barrel may not see as much as a factory std barrel , but friction will still drag lead or coating off the projectile going down the barrel , that's a fact that has proof any where you want to look it up . The fact that the pressure & heat from the powder ignition will subject the base of the Lead Projectile ( coated or not ) to release sub micron levels of lead with in the powders gas signature into the gas system of any firearm . You may not see it at first & it may cause no issues at first, but a constant firing & it will build up on all surfaces inside the gas delivery system . It will happen , you can't eliminate physics because you like what a bullet is made of , it even does it with Jacketed bullets to a much lesser degree or effect . I never said any where, I didn't think lead projectiles would not work , all I said is I don't recommend them ( in AR's for sure ), it was my opinion & knowing what I know about them & how much I don't like cleaning the firearm that I used them in , is why .
  12. The Barrel Extension flange seats on the Upper Receiver's Barrel seating face , once the Barrel nut is tightened to spec's , there will be no play , hot or not . Its a Mechanical weld . I have never seen Barrel extension fit in an Upper Receiver ,that was so loose you would need a filler , if you do ,send it back where it came from & get one that's to spec's . By filling in that fitment of the Barrel Extension , to the Upper Receive , you may also run the risk of defeating your purpose of making it a better shooter , too tight & expansion from heat of repeated firing , may cause different issues .Fitment of components & their tolerances are there for a reason. Your call , its your rifle .
  13. Being in the right place at the right time helps also , its called luck . All that you know & have been training for comes down to that right moment . I think I get a Deer opening Morning about 50% of the time & when I go out , I don't come out of the woods till I have one down or its the end of hunting hours for the day . Just about everyone in camp is back at the cabin by 1000hrs. & go back out around 14-1500 hrs. , its the way they hunt . I hear , its too cold or I'm too old or I didn't see anything , well I have shot a lot of deer from 1100 to 1300 hrs , when they are in camp , they just don't seem to get it & that's Ok if thats what you hunt for .Myself , I'm there to Harvest Deer , not hang out & drink beer or stay warm . I must say though , the drinking is almost non existent anymore , the young guys used to go out on the night before opening day of gun season , but all the hang overs the next morning & all of us making fun of them in the morning . Its so much different , all these young ones getting older are only doing lite drinking after hunting hours , now a days , I think they learned something . I have gone for Days with out a shot or even seeing a Deer or a shootable one . Its not as easy as most think & a vast expenditure of $$ & time . Very rewarding to me, I just like being there , even if I have to eat my empty tag & I have about three weeks before I take my trip up north & can't wait .
  14. No speculation here , lead is lead & if you think by putting a micro layer of copper on them stops leading of the Barrel lands & groves , not to mention particles from the fired lead going down the gas tube , its not speculation , its a given fact that lead fouling happens with all lead fired Bullets , no matter what velocity's they are shot at . You may never know if your bullet is deformed ,except how it performed down range in a grouping. now if your just blasting off ammo , well thats entirely different . I have shot a lot of lead out of Suppressors & it gets them a whole lot dirtier then shooting Jacketed Bullets , no doubt about it . I guess round count would make a difference , shoot less before cleaning may make it less noticeable . Its a fact, that Copper jacketed bullets shoot cleaner . If your arguing that , you need to shoot more .?
  15. Why the LocTite on the Barrel Extension ? You think its going to move with the Barrel nut torqued to spec's ?
  16. Depends on your use of the Rifle , just like any Trigger pull set point . A very low pull weight is for Bench rest type rifle & a higher pull weight for a Hunting type rifle or some where in-between if you want it . I believe it operator adjustable , if you don't like what its set up for .
  17. You could start some where near the min. loading & work it up from there . Some powders react differently to case volume & temperature . A good Chronograph is always helpful . I still weigh all my brass & put them in weight categories , even with same brands. Not really necessary for blasting ammo , but for testing best groupings , it can make a difference , you can see how a little difference in case volume can alter results .
  18. Some powders don't play well with any auto drop measurer , IMR 4064 is one of them , most pistol powders run well in them , as does Ball powders . Sure makes reloading it go faster .
  19. One thing I have a problem with Rifle type lead Bullets used in a self loader is , you never know if the Bullet gets deformed in some way on the feed ramp . It will shoot ,but could do funny things going through a Suppressor , could leave some nasty crap in them & just makes cleaning so much more fun . I'm all for Jacketed bullets in rifles , price sometimes off set labor .I stopped using lead in my Revolvers because of leading . Gas checks help , but lead is lead , no matter what you wrap it with or lube it with . I do still cast & shoot 45 acp & some 45 Colt , but they are different beasts . JMHO
  20. Ever try the rifle with a std. Buffer system ? I have seen issues with the JP"s ,SC set up before , it may be worth trying .
  21. I have seen enough of FB to know it would be a waste of my time & since the owners are friends of the Commies & have no problem sharing all your info to them , I have no use for it . It is good to keep up on the Family gossip ( the wife keeps me informed , which is another thing I could care less of ).
  22. Good job , nice Bull , what was the ammo/bullet was used ?
  23. Spring will be fine . There is a thread on this issue around here some where . Are you sure the catch is for a 308AR ? Is it going high enough to fully catch the Bolt ? Is the BCG going Back far enough for the Catch to work ? Thumbs.db
  24. I can tell you, you will not see much difference in Grouping . I've been testing different Bullet configuration & powders in the 16" & 20 " Criterion Barrels & the 20" does have a slight edge , probably better for a long range rifle , but 200 yards , there is not much difference between the two . After the Holidays , I will have input & target results of the 20" HB ,18 " & 16"HB , Criterion Barrels with 155 gr. Bullets ( Hornady A Max & Nolser Match )
  25. Good one .
