  1. I think its time you sold me a few that don't fit in the safe!LOL!!!!! Respectfully Terry
  2. As for the steel cased 45 ammo, I can tell you, from personal experience, that it HAS caused numerous broken extracters in quite a number of 1911's. in the mid 70's a batch of steel cased 45 ammo came on the market. I ,personally, replaced over two dozen extractors for customers who admitted that they were using steel ammo at the time of the malfunction. Respectfully Terry
  3. Talk about a warped since of humor!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE!!!!!! it! Terry PS How long did you have to look for the rk bunny? LOL!!
  4. Primers can make a big difference in a load. I once bulit a 218 Bee improved on a small martinee auction. Could only get Remington primed brass, so I stayed with Rem primers. My best load would only shoot 1.5". I was very un-happy! a friend suggested a change in primers. With the best load, and only change being primers. the group shrank to .75". Yea,,,,primers can make a big difference. Respectfully Terry
  5. When I started my "AR10" build,,,I didn't know about different mfg parts not fitting together. So, I had bought a DPS bbl in 260 rem, because I knew 260 bbls were hard to find. Then asked my wife ( who got me into this whole thing,LOL!!) to order the "other" parts to put it together. She orderede the RR because she thought them well made ( after 30 years of being married to me, a gunsmith) she knows quality from poop. Got the local gunshop to order the parts, told the wife I wanted to be surprised, and didn't want to know what she ordered, and just waited. Don't really know how long I waited, but the shop called, and said my parts were in, it was like Christmas!!!!!! Been very happy ever since! Everything has been well worth the wait! Respectfully Terry
  6. Its the 6.8 shortened @,050" and the sholder set back a little. Really fun to shoot, and Nosler makes a great 125grn bullet thats made for deer and 'lopes. I had to send my chrono back to get it cleaned, but the last loads I chroned made almost 2600fps with the 125's. Respectfully Terry
  7. As a gunsmith, the steel tool aginst the aluminum reciever is plenty hard enough, but you will need to re-square the tool. The frequency of which would change with the hardness of the recievers, and the hardness of the finish. Those hard anodised recievers are TOUGH!!! Respectfully Terry
  8. Does it lap anything other than the flat? Sorry if this is a stupid question. Terry
  9. They are a good short range bullet. less than 200 yds. If you just want them to go bang, and shoot paper at 100 yds,,,,they will do great!LOL!! Respectfully Terry
  10. For those of us with "older" eyes, I reccomend the Merit eye device. Its a roating device, like the lens of a camera. It helps to focus the eyes. Respectfully Terry
  11. My carry gun is a Kimber ultra carryII, 45 ACP. my "go to" is a series 70, Colt 1911 that I'v had over 40 years. I just read a WEB Griffin novel that had two characters dissucisiong the difference between the 9mm and the 45. One charector to the other, " Do you know what the 9mm is? Other," What> Its the 45 set to stun," No disrespect ment, just thought it was funny Terry
  12. Personally, I'd chuck it in the lathe, and using a boring bar, just chase the threads a little. respectfully Terry
  13. I built a 260 on a RRA platform about 6 months ago. I haven't had much range time because of snow. It shoots well under 1/2" at 100 yds. While I have great respect for both the 308 and the 260, the only thing "I" personally would shoot at 1,000 yds is targets, or something attacking me. Just my .02 . Terry
  14. or, he didn't care what a headach he was creating. Terry
  15. Most commercial machine threads are machined for 70% engagemont. Its not un-commen to see flat tops on threads. Respectfully Terry
  16. Sorry can't stand mouldy cheese. Terry

  19. Have to agree with 392h , nothing will stop a real pro, or someone who is really determined. Years ago, a friend who worked for a bullett proof vest co was telling me about a break in at thier factory. The thievs used a forklift to steal the whole safe! Put into the back of a truck, and took the whole thing! Terry
  20. Now, thats a really nice looking rifle! Terry
  21. Frankley, I'v got slick sides, and foward assists. I'v used the fa's just enough to wish I had it on all my AR's. It always seems that I want the FA on the gun that dosen't have it. I'll never buy another upper without the FA. Respectfully Terry
  22. About 10 years ago, befor I was diganosed as bi=polar, I traded my 4 screw S&W mod 29, factory engraved with my initals, straight across for a Savage 99, 300 Savage..... Eventually sold the 99 for $250. Been trying to trace the buyer of my 29 ever since. GERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Terry
  23. My brother bought a 1,000 rds of steel 5.56 he got 40 rounds through the DPMS bbl befor the chamber was coated with lacquer so bad I had to remove the bbl and polish the chamber. Respectfully Terry
