  1. On my PA10 w/the 18" barrel I used this gas tube not the rifle length. https://www.armalite.com/SACItem.aspx?Item=10007005
  2. Ran another 50 rounds through it today. Not 1 problem. This was using the Brownells BCG w/the rounded ejector.
  3. Welcome from KY.
  4. Ok the charging handle shouldn't go "off track" w/the bolt carrier group installed.
  5. I think you are confusing the bolt being locked up so tight with the charging handle being stuck. The 308AR's need broken in. When I built my pistol it was hard to get the charging handle pulled back w/a round in the chamber. Like collapse the stock and bang the butt on the ground while pulling on the charging handle hard. This is not the case after several hundred rounds. The gun functioned ok when shot but not when operated by hand till it broke in. You might try shooting it.
  6. And having remembered reading that advise is why I tried switching to the bolt w/the rounded ejector. Thank you.
  7. I think the different ejector shape fixed it. I was limited on time and only ran 10 rounds with the Brownells bolt. But it ran fine w/the round top ejector. It wasn't ejecting anything after the first 150 rounds that ejected fine. It would eject the brass if I only loaded 1 round in the magazine and would lock the bolt back on the empty mag. I tried 3 different P mags. A 10 rnd and 2 20rnd magazines. Gas block is tight and the gas tube is where it belongs. If it doesn't rain any more I'll get out back tommorow. We will see.
  8. The Creedmoor ran fine for 150rnds. Then it started leaving the empty cases in the action while also trying to load the next round. The ejector is flat on this bolt. Top pic. Switched to a Brownells bolt from one of my 308 pistols. I only fired 10 rounds w/this bolt but it ran as designed. It has a rounded off ejector. 2nd pic. I ordered KAK ejectors that are rounded off for my other 308 bolts that have flat ejectors. I think this will solve this and future problems. Last pic is what the gun was doing. Yes I know I need to clean the bolts.
  9. The creedmoor started leaving the fired brass in the chamber with the next round partially chambered. Ran fine for about 150 rounds then not so much. I changed bolts to one from Brownells that I know works in my 308 pistol. Back to running as it should. The ejector in the original bolt is squared off and the one in the Brownells bolt isn't. I have ordered KAK ejectors for the 3 bolts I have w/squared off ejectors.
  10. That looks like barrel nut meets pipe wrench.
  11. I ordered the correct one from Brownells after optics planet sent me the carbine length one. That's why I said something. Optics Planet is dead to me. They have screwed up the last order from me. I hope they send you the correct part but don't count on them.
  12. Optics Planet sent me a carbine length when I ordered the intermediate length one. Brownells had the right ones.
  13. Sounds like a good project.
  14. ∆∆∆∆∆ that is the right tube, buffer and spring. Everything in 1 package. If the website says out of stock call them they will usually make you up a set.
  15. https://www.armalite.com/SACItem.aspx?Item=AR10REKIT01&ReturnURL=/Armalite/Product-Category/AR10-Parts-Accessories&Category=4eeff98b-d9a6-40fd-be6b-ab2e44ec1080 This is the recoil system that will work.
  16. What is the internal length of your receiver extension? What is the length of your buffer? Armalite uses the same spring for rifle/carbine systems. What does your buffer weigh?
  17. A good thermal scope will take up almost half the 13k
  18. Welcome from KY.
  19. I didn't read the bid proposal but that cost is usually for the whole system. Optics, case, spare parts, bipods, magazines, etc. Not just the rifle.
  20. Just put this on my creedmoor except 30 Cal add is for 5.56. Seems to do a good job. Primary had them on sale for about $25.00 https://www.primaryarms.com/radical-firearms-muzzle-brake-nada-zero-impulse-1-2x28
  21. About the only thing left stock on my PA10 is the upper, lower(not including trigger and grip), BCG and rifle length receiver extension w/spring and buffer. Unless it is a killer deal AND you are willing to spend money and time skip it for a better platform. I only paid $499 for the one I started the journey with. With what I've done I'm @ about a grand into this thing now. My rifle shoots well and runs with whatever I feed it NOW.
  22. They just ordered more rifles is all.
  23. Welcome from KY.
  24. SASS is what they called it IIRC.
