freeminder
Hello My name is william and I am from Europe. I am 46 yeras old and my great hobby is wild boar hunting. Since some years we get a bigger problem with wild boars. They destroy fields especially corn. And it is not very easy to hunt them at daylight. After some gunshots you can shoot them only at night. I have only a REM700 in .30-06. The rifle is very good but I am too slow and the boars are too fast for more than 1 or 2 hit. Therefore I want to build my own AR-style rifle in .308. My rifle should be a gas-operated weapon like an FN FAL not like an AR. And I want to use MagPul-magazines I will show you some picture next time. so long William
jtallen83
Welcome from Iowa, via North Carolina! Looking forward to hearing more on that rifle, we get very little info on building FAL type rifles here.
planeflyer21
Welcome from Arizona! Where in Europe are you located? I am curious to know about the gun laws in your particular locale. Is your choice of a FAL build due to the laws, parts availability, a combination of both or neither?

survivalshop
Welcome from Florida There are few Piston system AR type rifles available , you will find that ( at this time ) there is not an after market system available , complete Upper assembly or complete rifle , may be the only way to acquire one . POF , PWS , Adams Arms , LWRC are a few & none that I know of sell the individual Piston system components , like they do for the AR 15 . Adams Arms may come out with a kit in the near future , since they make a system for the AR 15 , but you never know .Absolutely nothing wrong with the DI Gas system . Good luck & keep us posted on your progress & don't forget photo's if you can .

mrmackc
Welcome from Central Texas. Our rural area has a large population of wild swine (feral hogs) . They are very destructive to crops watermelons peanuts veggies. We tend to shoot AR and M 14 7.62x51NATO, .300 BO, .3006. Hog hunters use 4x4 vehicles Dogs to live capture and traps.to attempt control feral hog herds. A lot of the terrain is tough and brushes.
