The guy that broke 308ar?

Guests will do that to you. But it seems he can shoot, so we can tolerate him.

I had some luck this morning. That is a NY neutered 6.5 Grendel.  New the deer had a big body.  Figured/hoped it a 2.5 year old. NYS DEC was at the meat processor place checking deer.  Aged it at 3.5?  Said just bad genes for its horn.  Yes sir, a management buck!😉

I got to use my .260 rem this year for the first time, and boy did it do the job. I am in love with this rifle and with the 120 grain Nosler ballistic tips, I have no doubt it could take any medium size game at any ethical range.

first to shoot opening morning. This guy got within 30 yards of me. Put him in the scope and couldn’t see my reticle (or the fact that he had antlers. Lol.) put the gun down, turned on my wonderful primary arms illumination reticle and when the scope was back on him he was still staring at me... he sealed his fate by not running when I gave him the chance. Was a pleasant surprise to be bigger than I thought and have a 7 point rack.

next morning I got this nice doe running in at 150 yards. Decent sized, only slightly smaller than the buck. Lung shot (eating heart is my favorite so I shoot higher than heart) but still dropped without take a step.

I got a second doe on the third day. Was 250 yards and the .260 rem did the job, she only went 30 yards. Sadly I don’t have a picture because we got snow later and she got covered while in the back of my truck. But she was bigger than the first two deer and possibly the biggest doe I have shot.

Lots of nice freezer meat and some fresh hearts, liver, and kidney.
