What's your weather like today or the past few days?

We are in the middle of a torrential downpour/flash flood warning. 4 inches of rain so far and another 3 to 4 inches projected, followed by a 30 mph NE wind dropping the temperature to 57 F.  Nasty!

Temp is coming back up and should hit low 90’s for a few days. Have been keeping an eye on the fire burning east of us about 12 or so mile from the house, we are just outside the yellow zone west of 95.

Left for western TN wed morning battled 40-50mph cross winds thru all of IL, just about tore the tundra and me apart!

it was beautiful down there, the locals were cold lol

cut the trip short due to a winter storm warning for central IL north, got home last night at 10pm, it started snowing some time after midnight.

it’s not super cold high 20’s but it’s been coming down steady all day. I just got in from plowing beacuse it’s wet and heavy probably have 3-4” so far

I miss the snow Shepp.  I was sweating today putting up Christmas decorations.  It's just wrong.

I have a love hate relationship with it lol. I put all mine up last weekend knowing this was probably coming, but didn’t plug them in till last night lol

Our first snow of the season is expected starting some time today, none yet and I hope that continues through tomorrow. My kind of snowstorm! I like the other type that comes down in liquid form too. Just as long as I don't need to plow it.

If it’s the same storm that just blew thru here you’re going to be plowing

Yeah, that's more than I want if I have a choice. I know that I don't.

I think it's related to your storm but in a very muted form. For storms coming from the west the mountains of VT, NH, and the mountains of Maine generally get more than we do due to the altitude. They get dumped on. By the time it gets to us in the foothills there is reduced accumulation. Generally. Hopefully for this one too. That doesn't hold true for northeasters that come up the Atlantic coast. Sort of "Lake Effect" but with the ocean instead of a lake. Last I heard we were predicted to get 1-3". For me that's not plowable. I just take the truck and pack it down. As long as it doesn't melt it gives me a smooth surface for plowing my gravel driveway from then on. Depending on the weather I keep my plow feet a few inches down (raises the plow) to keep the snow and ice layer maintained. If it stays cold I raise them to lower the plow.

Decades ago I loved the cold and ice and snow. But that all changed with age. It was nothing for me to go snowshoeing and get really close to moose yarded up in my forest, but I haven't done that in years. I couldn't for years. Now I can but I have no interest.

In the time it took me to write this the snow has stopped after giving us a dusting. No doubt it'll start again. I hope not but this is typical of our first storms. Fingers crossed.

I doubt that we even got an inch of snow. Then the temp' came up and it started raining. It's pretty much all gone now. The deck had a trace of slush hours ago but even that's gone and the deck is just wet. I hate this weather; the cold and raw. I'd much rather have -20. Last I looked it was approx' 38 degrees and by the morning it's predicted to be in the low 40s.
