No naders up here yet but Friday night/ Saturday morning we had a burst of 70-90 mph winds, all north south damage that’s how they confirmed it was straight line. Car dealers ship got a bunch of windows blown out, store and road signs blown out. Yesterday I was coming back from a small town out in the flat farm land and saw one of the east west roads had about a dozen utility poles blown over, and it even snapped the rail road crossing gates off. talking rain snow mix for tomorrow March definitely came in like a lion!

shooterrex Posted March 18, 2025 Report Posted March 18, 2025 We just had 40-50 mph straight line winds. 2.5 in of rain. a few trees down in the woods.
Armed Eye Doc Posted March 18, 2025 Report Posted March 18, 2025 Windy and low 80's around here. No wind damage locally. A week ago, there was some straight line winds the blew over an RV and killed one guy. That was about 20 miles north of me.

Don't fall off the country, brother - I think you're safe where you are, by far. Those right-on-the-beach fuqrs, though... They might disappear...
Cunuckgaucho Posted March 19, 2025 Report Posted March 19, 2025 Low 40s but sunny, rough day at the office

We had 50 mph winds and 2 inches of rain on Saturday into Sunday. Heck of a storm surge. Came within 5 feet of the palm trees in front. Been way cooler than normal this winter in the Panhandle. Space X 9 splashed yesterday 50 miles south of us. Couldn’t see it though.

KSdefender Posted March 19, 2025 Report Posted March 19, 2025 Weird today. 64 this morning, with the high winds that have been around for over a week. I'm grateful that Kansas has not had the incredible wild fire activity that OK just went through. My favorite ammo seller is in Stillwater and the awful fires missed them. A lot of businesses and homes burned there. Back to Kansas: 64 now but dropping throughout the day and it's supposed to start raining / snowing around 4 when the temp hits freezing. Just another spring day in the Midwest. Stay safe out there - wherever you are.

It was pretty impressive, but not the first one. We had one a few weeks earlier too. Just had another one yesterday! We were in Miami at our daughter's all last week and apparently it snowed a bit here while we were gone! Crazy fukkin weather this year!

Rsquared Posted March 20, 2025 Report Posted March 20, 2025 We're all over the map here in the DC region. We go anywhere from the high 20's to low 70's. All you can do is layer up in the AM and slowly peel it off throughout the day.

Well, yes and no. By the time it got to us in Maine it had been neutered. We got a warmish 50* rain out of it. But that's not benign. The rivers are frozen and by melting the snowpack their water levels rise and there is the potential for ice jams. I haven't heard of any major ones and the videos I've seen show free flowing rivers with some chunks of ice. So we lucked out. But we still have an anal sphincter of a governor due to the woke southern Maine. Down there they think that a male can breastfeed an infant and TDS is rampant. So from bright blue sky and mid 50s yesterday to low 40s, rain and mist today. I was thinking of going to the range but as I age I get more and more wussified.
