KSdefender Posted March 20, 2025 Report Posted March 20, 2025 A reprieve from the wind. It went from 40mph last night with rain to sunny and 32 this morning. Just enough rain to cut down on the wildfire risk a little. Supposed to be clear and 50's-60's for about a week. I spent some time wandering in the yard picking up broken branches & daydreaming about getting out to Spearpoint Ranch with the M&P Sport .308/7.62.

Not a city person, but Vancouver is probably my favorite. Is “A Kettle of Fish” restaurant still in business? Had a memorable meal there long ago.

A Ketle of Fish is gone but if you're up here I'll treat you to Salmon House on the Hill https://www.salmonhouse.com/dinner-menu/
KSdefender Posted March 23, 2025 Report Posted March 23, 2025 First real thunderstorm of the season. Woke me around 3:30 AM and continued for about two hours. I need to get outside this morning and check for downed tree limbs. 50 degrees on it's way to 60
BrianK Posted March 24, 2025 Author Report Posted March 24, 2025 Typical Maine spring weather... mid 50s last week, today in the 20s with snow. I just moved the vehicles around 'cause there's no plowing what we're forecast to get (4-6") because the ground is soft and the plow would just destroy the lawn. So move the car out of the way and get the 4x4 better positioned. In being outdoors I heard what sounded like sleet hitting my jacket. But then I looked down and it was graupel. Sounds like sleet but looks nothing like sleet. Think spherical snow, that's closer. For a supposedly rare weather even we get it quite often. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graupel

dpete Posted March 26, 2025 Report Posted March 26, 2025 It sounds like mother nature is being a psycho bitch in more places than just here.

This past Sunday we got about 6", just enough to pull out the snowblower again. Today was low 40s, tomorrow high 40s and Friday in the 50s. Saturday starts as rain and may turn to snow again. WTF!!!
BrianK Posted March 31, 2025 Author Report Posted March 31, 2025 Today low 30s and rain, sleet, maybe snow tonight. Miserable weather.
shooterrex Posted March 31, 2025 Report Posted March 31, 2025 Thunderstorms and twisters a few hours ago. Bad weather was just south of us . Missed me bitch!
KSdefender Posted March 31, 2025 Report Posted March 31, 2025 Rain over the weekend [of course] and back down into the low 40's. Clear today but the temps will stay below 50 for a few days. Subject to change without notice.
unforgiven Posted March 31, 2025 Report Posted March 31, 2025 Storms just missed us, big mess throughout the area.
BrianK Posted March 31, 2025 Author Report Posted March 31, 2025 Rinse and repeat yesterdays weather. Low 30s with rain. Tornadoes would scare the crap out of me! There are a few things I can say about Maine weather, but one of them is that after 99.9% of our storms everything remains standing. Statistically the state gets one F1 tornado a year. A devil wind came through my land decades ago and lifted 2x4s and such. That's as close as I want to get to a tornado.

This weather is more bipolar than my last tinder date
Rsquared Posted April 4, 2025 Report Posted April 4, 2025 Started this week in the high 30's. Right now @ around 1700 it's still showing 74. Some goofy weather for sure. It's supposed to be back in the 40's on Monday. Which that'll work for me since I've got to work on some rooftop air-cooled chillers that day. So the pressure to get them online and running won't be there. As you were ladies.
Magwa Posted April 5, 2025 Report Posted April 5, 2025 Going to be 65 today and no Fuking rain river is running 20,000 CFS above normal our snowpack is 125 % we will have a big early runoff this year and it has already started.....
shooterrex Posted April 6, 2025 Report Posted April 6, 2025 Been flood warnings last 2 days at-home. I'm in Southern GA a mile north of Fla camping. Been 90 degrees and sunshine here since Wednesday. Hope the rain gets done before I head home.
BrianK Posted April 6, 2025 Author Report Posted April 6, 2025 Cloudy and rain low 40s during the day low 30s now @ 2100 with drizzle. More white stuff forecast for early next week. Typical spring in Maine.
dpete Posted April 6, 2025 Report Posted April 6, 2025 I'll say it again. Mother nature is a psycho bitch!
KSdefender Posted April 6, 2025 Report Posted April 6, 2025 Clear but back down to freezing in the KC area. The rain finally stopped....for a while...but the wind is back (25-40 mph) and although it will be in the 45-50' this coming week, it's supposed to hit 80 on 4/14.
BrianK Posted April 11, 2025 Author Report Posted April 11, 2025 Today in the low 40s, with skies that looked like it was going to rain any second, but it didn't. But it IS coming. It'll start as snow then change to rain and snow mix for the weekend. Next week it's supposed to warm up . That'd be nice.
