No to glow in the dark paint, the sights on my last sa (series 70, gi with a custom trigger serial number said it was new in 87) ((best, most accurate (((for me))) handgun I've ever shot)) had a white line out linning the rear notch and a red front post. I tryed to paint that on Harriet' s rear sight but the ridges make that improbable for my skill. I could take dremel to her but it wout still a be black on black sight picture, :-/ so it's new sights for me. Wish they didn't cost 80+ bucks. ridurall Posted August 27, 2015 Report Share Posted August 27, 2015 It's been over a year and a half since my best friend and shooting buddy (Randy) passed away from complications from his cancer treatment. I sure miss him but I've been helping his widow (Linda) with the selling of some of the guns she didn't feel the need to keep. I really miss our shooting the 50 BMGs together. I'm now carrying Randy's 10mm Delta Elite. Linda sold it to an acquaintance and customer of mine. When she listed it she was perfectly honest about it listing it as a Foster Lower with a Colt Delta Elite upper custom handgun. The guy that purchased it decided after about 3 weeks he wanted his money back for it. Since it was not both Colt upper and lower. I told him that wow it was not cool to pull that and Linda was not a dealer and she was straight up front about the gun from the start. I ended up telling him that I would purchase it from him rather than have her have to give his $1000 back. I kind of figured he would get the point that you just didn't do that to a widow. Well I ended up trading my 300 Blackout for it but don't regret it one bit. It's my daily carry gun now, that shoots perfectly from the day we swapped. It's also something I'm proud to carry that Randy was proud of and in remembrance of him. Before I started carrying the Delta Elite I carried a Kimber Ultra Carry II .45 ACP in a Crossbreed holster. I loved it but the only problem I had was after 4 years of daily carry I had worn too much of the bluing off. Now with the stainless Delta Elite that is not a problem. Plus I just couldn't carry it in a hybrid plastic/leather holster and purchased a Milt Sparks VMII for it. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

mrmackc Posted September 4, 2015 Report Share Posted September 4, 2015 Yep a common problem with anyone not remembering how the browning pattern works, the damn slide lock pin (take down pin) has to go thru the hole in the barrel link!Wash, maybe you need to send the faulty 1911 pistol to me for disposal, in exchange for a Nevada Arms 9MM I picked up as a throw out piece. or even the little AMC backup, the old one without a safety, no cleaning needed with either just hose them down with a can of brake cleaner and then lube them with a hosedown of WD40, the work really well being fired laying down sideways and kicking the brass straight up into your Oakleys. I took advantage of VZ Grips' Labor Day 20% off sale and got these Double Diamond G10 laminated grips. I may have to get some more of these. This is the second one I have had. I sold the other one after a friend saw my 16 year old son shooting Metallica Silhouettes with it.
