Time for an oddball intro

A fellow Marine pointed me this way for any questions I may have. I am experienced with many types of weapons, but this is my first "large bore" AR, so sourcing parts and what AR-15 parts cross over and such are the items I have the most questions about.

I purchased an LR-308 for a future project next spring. I plan to rip most of it apart to rebuild it into an "LR-257Roberts" if you will. I like the "Bob" for many reasons and I figure it would be an awesome semiauto hunting round. More punch than a .243 with the same recoil.

First, I have to get my daughter to stop hunting with it so I am delaying the build until after the holidays (deer season). Until then, it will be her deer rifle over her .243 Savage.

We love to shoot in my house and my oldest is definitely the most active of them. Here, a picture is worth a thousande words right? So here is the best intro I can offer:

You guys shoot INSIDE the house?!...  <dontknow>   <lmao>

Just kidding - welcome aboard, man.  Tell whoever sent you here that we appreciate it.  <thumbsup>

Archery can be an indoor sport, you know. Oh and those dang Nerf guns my wife picked up for the kids. (not that I EVER play with them or have one stashed away mind you.

Thanks, everyone!
