Tripledeuce
Offhand, I'd say its sub-par steel. Respectfully Terry PS, After cleaning my hunting equ and putting it away, I found out 10 months later, that I had forgotten to clean one of my custom Bob Loveless hunting knives! The blade was covered with blood and elk fat! A little hot water and dish soap and 5 minutes later, it was back to a mirror finish! Knife ws made out of ATS 34. one of the first of that steel that Bob had made. Edited December 11, 2014 by Tripledeuce
crimsonfalcon07
CRKT has never been my favorite. I'll take Benchmade, Spyderco, or Kershaw/ZT first any day. Here's a few of my smaller blades. HTM Darrel Ralph Gunhammers, a custom Darrel Ralph Trigger Maze, and a fixed blade of my own make and design. Love the Gunhammer: Benchmade Ritter Griptilian, Spyderco Stag Arms Manix 2, ZT 350, and Gunhammer with Radian blade: A couple other small fixed blades of my own make and design that I carry occasionally: Dagger: Kukri:

sketch
Lost my hatchet last year! In return my bro found this! I know a guy that makes bad ass blades from real Magwa material!
crimsonfalcon07
Thanks fellas. Blades are made from a variety of things. I use almost exclusively CPM 3V for my swords. It's about the best sword steel that there is, in my opinion. Most of the rest are made from a variety of high carbon steels, such as 5160, 52100, and 1095. The kukri is made from Alabama Damascus' twist pattern damascus, and stabilized old-growth california redwood burl for scales. This site doesn't let me post very many pics at once. Here's a few more: Bush swords: Another gladius: modern wakizashi prototype: A sweet manjushree from Himalayan Imports:
crimsonfalcon07
Also large persian, 1095 with green curly maple scales: And mini-persian buddy with textured bocote scales: Becker BK5 with more curly maple: Another kukri I sold a while ago:
crimsonfalcon07
Santoku: Himalayan Imports Spear Vala: HK 14650, which is a really good cutter, and very smooth to open: Benchmade Monochrome (my first nice folder, which I liked so much that when it was stolen, I bought a new one): Benchmade 530. Super light, which I liked, but took a terrible edge and dulled pretty quickly. Others love theirs, so maybe I got a lemon:

crimsonfalcon07
I'm not, actually. I just didn't want to completely monopolize the thread. Ka-bar Phat Bob, which is a great little slicer, and awesome at the price point too. Good worker. Cold Steel Peacekeeper 1: BK9, modified by a fellow named Haze: A 3V utility knife with bubinga scales: Another 3V piece, designed by a customer of mine:

planeflyer21
That must be beachin's hand, because his Dad's hand will make it look like a pocket knife. <laughs> Nice kukri!

98Z5V
I'm glad we're talking about the Kukri now. Badass weapon, no matter what the use. This was a gift from a past deployment. Someone earlier, maybe in another thread, was asking how you'd smash something with a Kukri - you use this, and smash schit with your kukri... Love this blade over anything else - this one would be my pick, for whatever reason...
beachmaster
Nice Tom! I continue to be impressed with your taste for things destructive lol

beachmaster
Haha, they have some AWESOME knives!!! Why do I need a combat cleaver!!!??? I dont know but I do! I guess I blame it on isis, they give me a practical use for one LOL I have already got a few people interested in buying from these guys. Maybe if I do a crappy good review, and post some reviews on YouTube, and I can prove that I have brought them a lot of interest, as we as advice to help them improve their product fortune American market, they would send me some free knives to review. :-) Then maybe I could make a name for myself reviewing their knives.... Then maybe i could wholesale them, and get my business going... :-D Edited February 11, 2015 by beachmaster
