I need of a safe

Yes , you can hide them , but being in an apartment, that may be difficult . I can think of a lot of out of the way spots that no normal burglar would find or look in , but I have a large house , not an apartment .

I like the gang box idea, if a safe is not reachable to purchase , if too light , just add weights or lead to the bottom of it or chain it to something hard to move around .

Anything , as said here , is better than leaving them out behind the door or in a closet.

What about the gun cabnits are those useless?

I had one of those back years ago, I think it was a Stack On. Took my stepson (the one that's in prison now) no time at all to pop that thing open and get my guns out. He took two handguns and the only reason he didn't take any long guns was because him and his buddy were on foot. They came back a little later with a car but we pulled up out front so they booked it out the back (they were parked in the alley) without getting anything else. I wouldn't waste a dime on any of those sheet metal gun cabinets!

Just store your ammo in the bottom of it - that adds alot of weight, FAST.  Everything secured in one location.  Chain it off after that, and it's one of those targets that they'll pass up to move on to other, easier things.

Just how long did it take to cut through it & did he cut through enough to remove items in the box ? Most thieves don't bring power tools with them & if you leave a cutting torch set up or cutting tools next to your safe , your asking for trouble . <dontknow>

That Ridgid box I linked is $245 right now, regularly $289.  Ask home depot for a MIL discount.  Gain another 10%.  I can fit two 18-year old boys in mine, if I stomp 'em down.  One fits in there with room to move around...  <lmao>

You guys are making me crap my pants. I was't that worried until you guys started with that poop on drugged out crackheads and stupid kids. Now I gotta go figure out how to druggie/young-dumbass proof the shop before we get all them guns and other toys in.

To make things even more difficult, the "shop" is a "shop"! I've got every metal cutting tool available in the main manufacturing shop floor.

Taking suggestions. Store guns offsite?

The best "theif proof" you can do is have security cameras and lots of insurance.

A decade ago when they built a new library branch here, thieves sawzalled the exterior walls and stole 20 new computers.  Days later they came back for new wiring.

Make a dog run out back, nice and shady and adopt a bunch of large dogs from the county. When operations wrap up for the day, put the several dogs inside the shop.  Make sure they only know you and your most trusted employees.
