Robocop1051
I need a new one... I have a Tag Heuer, but it's from an Ex and the wife doesn't appreciate it much when I wear it. I have a decent Michael Kors watch, but it's not really "duty appropriate". I'm looking at something like the G Shock. Especially after spending all the time at SHOT, and seeing some badass gear the guys were wearing. I want a hard core, post-apocalypse, save the cheerleader save the world, Escape New York, last a lifetime, badass watch. High end Casio, Oakley... I'm open for suggestions. I'm not trying to break the bank, but daddy needs a birthday present idea.
Microgunner
the Seiko 5, as cheap as it is, is one of the toughest watch movements existant. It can be had in many different watch styles for under $300. No batteries either. I like this one. NTXshooter
Citizen Eco-Drive. Never needs batteries. I've had mine for over 10 years and the only thing I've replaced is the crystal. I did have to repair a bent stem. They come in all shapes and sizes from chronographs to dress watches. Every time I look for a watch to replace it, I can't find anything I like better. End of the world = no batteries.

One of the biggest theft (purse snatch) cases I took was 3 citizen watches. $3k-$5k ea. I'm thinking under $
edgecrusher
I wear a G-Shock for duty use, I like it a lot. $80 bucks on sale from $135. I wear it like duty gear, no worries if it breaks. It's a bare bones nothing special but it works.
NTXshooter
I paid less than $400 for mine. There are lots of models under $300. And most of them are stainless steel not plastic

Until you put such a ridiculous price cap on your quest (from mister "Buy once, cry once"), I was going to suggest a Breitling.

AngelDeVille
My Citizen watch finally died after 15 years of abuse. I replaced it with a Seiko Solar, and after a year I'm liking it better than the Citizen. Seiko was around $250. Matt.Cross
I'm collecting Fossil Tri-Chrono type watches, they're pretty nice and you don't have to feel bad about beating them up.
mrmackc
I have an older Wyler Incaflux that Wife gave me one Christmas around 1974. It outlasted all the battery powered jobs I have. It is my everyday watch stainless. I set it and wind it every other Sunday. It runs about a minute slow a month. Just tells time no calendar. I think it really likes a hard recoiling firearm. Maybe recoil is good for winding the auto winder.I expect it will out live me.
DNP
I've been beating the crap out of a $400 Bulova my wife gave me a long time ago. Put a new crystal on it once, it's ready for another. She's always pissed I wear it to work. Love the band on it. 98Z5V
Wore Seiko dive watches for years, still have all of them. The oldest one is from 1987. I wear G-Shocks now, and have killed about a half-dozen of them over the years. The watch never stops working - I rip the band mounts apart, or something similarly ridiculous like that. The first time I broke the schit out of one of the Seiko watches was when I switched over to G-Shock watches. Based on the G-Shock price, I don't care if I kill them. Based on how tough they really are, I don't mind when one of them croaks, and gets ripped apart... <lmao>

planeflyer21
Robo, you need to break the mold. Get yourself a nice pocket watch...fine Swiss piece. Make sure the chain attachment point is extra strong, with an extra long titanium chain. Then you'll have a nice flexible weapon ala Taihojustsu.
