Watches and Time Pieces

I need a new one... I have a Tag Heuer, but it's from an Ex and the wife doesn't appreciate it much when I wear it. I have a decent Michael Kors watch, but it's not really "duty appropriate".

I'm looking at something like the G Shock. Especially after spending all the time at SHOT, and seeing some badass gear the guys were wearing.

I want a hard core, post-apocalypse, save the cheerleader save the world, Escape New York, last a lifetime, badass watch.

High end Casio, Oakley... I'm open for suggestions. I'm not trying to break the bank, but daddy needs a birthday present idea.

Citizen Eco-Drive.  Never needs batteries.  I've had mine for over 10 years and the only thing I've replaced is the crystal.  I did have to repair a bent stem.  They come in all shapes and sizes from chronographs to dress watches. Every time I look for a watch to replace it, I can't find anything I like better.

End of the world = no batteries.

One of the biggest theft (purse snatch) cases I took was 3 citizen watches. $3k-$5k ea. I'm thinking under $500

I paid less than $400 for mine.  There are lots of models under $300.  And most of them are stainless steel not plastic

Yup...had a Citizen Navihawk that was well under $300 when I got it.  Bastard stole it.

Until you put such a ridiculous price cap on your quest (from mister "Buy once, cry once"), I was going to suggest a Breitling.

I have an older Wyler Incaflux that Wife gave me one Christmas around 1974. It outlasted all the battery powered jobs I have. It is my everyday watch stainless. I set it and wind it every other Sunday. It runs about a minute slow a month. Just tells time no calendar. I think it really likes a hard recoiling firearm. Maybe recoil is good for winding the auto winder.I expect it will out live me.

Wore Seiko dive watches for years, still have all of them. The oldest one is from 1987.  I wear G-Shocks now, and have killed about a half-dozen of them over the years.  The watch never stops working - I rip the band mounts apart, or something similarly ridiculous like that.  The first time I broke the schit out of one of the Seiko watches was when I switched over to G-Shock watches. Based on the G-Shock price, I don't care if I kill them.  Based on how tough they really are, I don't mind when one of them croaks, and gets ripped apart...  <lmao>
