.308LiteHunter
Finally got my SPR build up and running. this is at 4 shot group cause I didn't have a fifth. 40gr V Max in front of benchmark powder. Can remember the charge. This is only at 50 yards things look promising for the 100 yard line. I didn't think the 40s would do very good in a 1/7 twist they shot the best between some 64gr Winchester Ranger and some other 55gr hand loads I had got some 77gr Bergers going to try next. Barrel is made by McGowen Precision Barrels in kalsispell MT. Nice group, looks like that load has real potential
MONTANA308
Ya I was very surprised I never planed on shooting anything lighter then 60gr out of this gun. Was very surprised how well those 40s grouped. I had another group of some 55gr handlebars I shot suppressed that was pretty good as well
MONTANA308
5 shot group suppressed with a gemtech. 55gr hollow point in front of 27g of benchmark fed 205 primer again at only 50 yards. Will be hitting the reloading bench to load up some more to see how this gun does at 100 I only probley have 40 rounds through it. mineralman55
Haven't been to the range in a while, so pulling this out and looking at it makes things just a little better. 39 grains of TAC, 168 BTHP Sierra, 1x LC case, WIN LR primers, 2.800" LOA, iron sights, 100 yds. jtallen83
Shot a box of ZQ1 7.62 ammo from Walmart today. it is said to be NATO M80 ball spec ammo but the box is very light on info. I only shot a 20 round box but there were no issues. After a couple adjustments on the scope I got a 1 1/4 inch 5 shot group at 100 yards. Shot with my AR-10, Bushnell 2.5x10 Elite 4200, with nothing but an Atlas bipod and my shoulder. I'm betting with some bench bags it could do better, a new scope mount might negate the need for the adjustments every time I set up. Not bad though for just over $16 a box with tax. LAR8Autoshucker
Hey, I just joined the forum today. I finished customizing my Rock River LAR8 last week and want to show it off so why start with a couple 100yrd groups I shot. My best group so far is with Federal gold metal match, but the American Eagle OTM for M1A did pretty good as well. Where is a good spot to post pics of my rifle? I'm anxious to see what other 308 enthusiasts think of her.
LAR8Autoshucker
Not sure why the pics didn't show up, I'll try again. Edited June 20, 2014 by LAR8Autoshucker
LAR8Autoshucker
This is Maybelline, my rra lar8 the scope is a nikon m308 and I have a tru glo red dot on a 45ºoffset. She came as a standard mid length A2 with clamshell fore grip and carry handle upper. I did all the work myself, and it dipped it in Marpat. Now....if you've been lurking around here for any length of time, you realize that we're all just gonna egg you on to build another one, since that one was just a mod. <laughs> Oh...and welcome aboard.
