I only have time/money for a few common calibers lol. Going to have to settle for vanilla 308

I almost bought an ArmaLite upper in .338 Fed. when they were selling them out a couple years ago but used that same argument to convince myself not to...then 98 goes and plants the damn seed again........

Yep, .338 Fed short rifle, 14.5" pinned.  My dream Texas hog gun.  Got a very good buddy that left the motorcycle business and moved to the family business in Tejas.  Permanent invite to come to his place and crush hogs.

This oughta do it, I think...  <lmao>

EDIT - did some Google-Fu and found an account of an 8"-barreled short .338 Fed that was pushing 220gr projectiles at 2,000fps.  I don't think it's gonna have a hard time through a 14.5" barrel.  Now for the bad news - I'll be waiting 6~12 weeks on a custom barrel...

The new LGS in town is doing the transfer for $20, wife sent the money order off this morning

I've got some parts laying around I'd like to use, Armalite AR-10T tube and barrel nut, A2 stock and tube, and few small miscellaneous, decided to go with Cerakote C in magpul FDE for a color. Big question now seems to be what barrel/BCG to go with. I'm an Armalite fan but the DPMS format seems to have so many more options at better prices. Decisions decisions..... <dontknow>

Hope to have a filled out parts list to run by everyone in a few weeks but I've got time....promised the Wife she would get a new MK25 fist, gotta  :kissass: to soften the glare when I start buying the rest of the parts....and the glass.

LGS in what town? LBK?

WOW! Got my tracking info already, this guy is FAST!

Thank you Chris!

Just got home with the set, looks sweet! I guess if I were real picky I could say it had a blemish but it looks real nice to me. I didn't realize it had that little gadget you adjust to put tension on the takedown pin lug, not that it needs it with the nice fit. The LPK is nice as well, Ergo grip was another surprise bonus.

My LGS did the transfer for free as well, of course I did take a new Sig MK25 Desert off his hands........the wife wants my black one so I needed a replacement........

Off to the basement to see how this trigger in the LPK is gonna feel.....

She is taking her CC class end of the month.....

I doubt she carries it much though so I'll have to keep it in shape with plenty of range trips. ::)

No wise cracks about her wanting the "black one" either guys, she'll come after you! :909:

Holy Shat, fast shipping!  Didn't bother tracking it yet, since it was just sent on the 6th.  My local gunpusher calls this morning and tells me it's in.  :ugone2far:   I left work early today to pick it up.  Can't find a "blem" anywhere on it.  The rail offered with this set is very, very sweet, too - you guys are gonna regret not picking it up.  I like the self-tensioning setup in the lower - I'm surprised nobody has mentioned that yet - slick design and great execution.

Kudos to you, Chris - you knocked it outta the park.  I suspect you already do that with all your customers.  Well, except for whiny, bitchass 0331s.  Highly commendable, brother!  <thumbsup>

I noticed that RRA LAR-8 takedown pin is the perfect length.  DPMS LR308 takedown pin is too short to get all the way through the receiver.  AP takedown pin is the same length as DPMS/AR10, so it doesn't quit get it, either.

For the front pivot pin, AP is too long - but it's a weird pin anyway.  I don't have any other 308 pivot pins to try right now.  Working length of the pin will need to be at least 1.335" long, preferably a little longer. 1.400" would be perfect.
