I like the helpful advice I've seen others getting and I hope to get some expertise from the seasoned builders here. This will be a budget build.

I want to use aero upper and lower, a D.wilson BCG. The barrel is still a question though. Something 16" with mid-length or rifle gas tube. Any suggestions. I want to use this as a deer riffle.

Aero upper and lower is a solid choice, as well as the DWilson BCG - GREAT parts and a solid foundation. Rifle buttstock or Collapsible buttstock? Reason I ask is for the collapsible-possibility - only use Armalite AR-10 Carbine parts for that. If you go collapsible stock, use the Armalite AR-10 Carbine receiver extension, ANY AR-15 carbine H3 buffer, and the Armalite EA1095 spring. Solid dependability, right there. 98Z5V Posted December 21, 2016 Report Posted December 21, 2016 Doesn't matter, aslong as you stick with the pattern you're setting out to build - in which case, this is DPMS-based. BCG, check. Barrel, check. Upper and lower receivers should be the first thing in-hand, but other than that, have at it.

unforgiven Posted December 25, 2016 Report Posted December 25, 2016 Welcome from Indiana brother Aero upper/lower is a great start I'm a fan. Pick a trigger. I put the LaRue MBT on my Aero M5. SSA,SSA-E and ACT for single stage are good choices. Just my 2 mags.
