Rsquared
BEGIN REPORT So, The day starts as usual for a weekend. Wake up around 0600 (ish).....stand up....scratch head....scratch balls and proceed on. After a shower and some coffee, I start transferring some tools from my work truck to my personal truck. I promised a friend of mine that owns the local beer/wine/liquor store in town (don't everybody act shocked at once now) that I'd do a little electrical work for him. He had a bad contactor that runs his outside lighting that I was going to replace for him. No big deal....maybe 30 minutes or so of work, only because I was going to clean up the cabinet that it was mounted in (fukin rats nest) while I was in there. So I'm standing there, yanking extra wire that's just in the way, out of the panel and tossing it aside. All is going well, I'm in no hurry, and I've even got mickey mouse "whistle while you work" floating through my head. Not really.....it just sounded good to say that. So I'm almost done replacing his contactor, when this thing in my pocket makes some weird electronic sound. So I pull this piece of Hi-tech Star Trek looking technology outta my pocket. Oh, and it's called a cellular telephone for those of you that were wondering. I glance at the face of it (yeah....it's got a small touchscreen built into it), and the name above the number simply says "GUN PUSHER". So I casually answer and begin speaking with aforementioned gun pusher. After some standard mild bull$hitting and the typical mild ball busting, he says "You're tax stamp finally came back". Followed by a "Really?" by me. I then inform him that I'll try to make it by sometime soon in the next couple of days to pick up my stuff. I say thanks, and hang up. Sooooooooo I quickly double my pace, finishing slamming the new contactor in, and start sprinting towards the door. Stopping only long enough to grab the "agreed upon" price of labor of a 30 of MGD, I wave at the owner and say "see ya", as all he sees is a blur of color rush by him and out the front door. Tools get literally chucked into the bed of the truck (also known around here as ECR-1 from the Arizona shoot back in December). I go racing out of the parking lot damn near on two wheels as I head towards the main artery that'll get me to my destination. Within minutes, I'm at the on ramp of the Baltimore/Washington Parkway. This is the line that'll get me up to the Jessup area of Maryland of which the, once again, aforementioned gun pusher is located. I get going up the ramp, accelerating like a scrambled F-18 being launched off of a carrier. It's all going down perfectly, I think "THIS IS FAN-FUKING-TASTIC!", I'm gonna make some time on the ol BW Parkway. Whereas, I smoothly merge into traffic..........and proceed at the blistering, heart pounding rate of approximately 5 MPH. FUK!!!! And.....I finally arrive. So I go stumbling through the door of my local gun pusher. Only to be greeted with a "I thought you said in a couple days". Followed by my witty response that those days were in dog-years....and to get me my fukin can. Well? It took fuking long enough, considering that I ordered this damn thing LAST Fathers Day. BUT, she's a thing of beauty. The AAC Ti-Rant 45M. So I do the final required paperwork, god knows we don't have enough of that in this world, and proceed with the mandatory bull$hitting. After a few minutes, my mission begins the final phase, and that's to safely egress said gun pushers premises without unloading any of my additional hard earned wages. Those bastards always somehow know just how to get to me. Oh look at this, an FN45 tactical in FDE with the threaded barrel. That would look sexy connected to that new can I hear. So....I finger it, as any red blooded man would, and try to conceal the bulge in my pants. Oh yeah, "that's nice" I say.....followed by a "maybe I'll pick one of those up soon", as I politely hand it back to him after I wipe the drool off of it. Oh, "check this out" he says. And hands me a Daniels DD5 in sniper gray. Now this almost makes me tear my pants right off without using any hands. All kidding aside, that is one sweet rifle. Lightweight (for a 308), with a slim rail that locks up to the upper with a 4-point attachment. I mean....that fuker is NICE. BUT.....at $3000 ( a deal right), I simply say "Hmm, nice rifle", and hand it back to him. After a few more rounds of this, I start making my way to the door. With some last, but failed, attempts on their part I successfully hit the door, and jump back into ECR-1. It's wheels up and back to the ranch to start fiddling with this new acquisition. First thoughts. I like the modular approach, so that it can be multiple lengths. But then again, that's why I bought the damn thing. I'll throw some comparison pics up against my other Ti-Rant. That is, once I "finish" and put my pants back on later. END REPORT
Armed Eye Doc
I think I should get a penicillin shot after reading that, just in case. Congrats on the new acquisition without letting loose of more funds.

Rsquared
Ok. Just for a quick comparison. Here's the new Ti-Rant 45M (at full length) compared against a standard Ti-Rant on the Sig 220. And here's the 45M chopped down against a standard Ti-Rant. As you can see, it's only a couple of inches shorter (yeah, yeah......every woman's joke all over the world right?). I'll be interested to see the difference in sound suppression. I can't be quoted, but I think I remember reading somewhere that AAC modified their baffle stack to try and keep this thing as quiet as possible while reducing the length. But, as usual, I could always "ALWAYS" be mistaken. Or....just stupid. Either way....we'll find out. Any of you guys that play with cans, or saw the video's from the December Arizona shootfest, already know how the standard Ti-Rant is already pretty damn quiet. So I'm pumped to get to the range and try this thing out as soon as I can. But....since both work and life sucks.....I'm not sure how soon that'll happen. But you can be sure that it'll have some of Tom's slippery lube on the pistol guiderails.

Hell yes, brother! I was a little worried about your lack of pics by this time of night... You know, just sayin'... I thought you might have had your dik stuck in the can! jtallen83
I should have my standard TiRant in under a month, got the barrel tested in the MK25 already. Ron, did you see AAC is selling a piston for both models that allow direct thread to 300 BO? For subsonic only but that M model would make for a real compact rig! Rsquared
No, I haven't seen that. But the SDN-6 is about the same size as the shortened 45M (I think). Hang tough and I'll see if I can round up a picture of the two for comparison.
jtallen83
The Ti-rant is a bit longer but about half the weight, I had my stats backwards.
Rsquared
That still sounds interesting. I'll have to check into that. Thanks JT.
