Robb in Austin
Howdy all. Just joined after finding this while researching. Built 2 AR15s. Just grabbed a PSA Gen 2 lower and assembled upper. And, of course, that's when I discovered all the gas system and buffer system issues.... 98Z5V
Welcome. We're here to help. Just build the lower right, and it'll cut down on your issues. Once you get the upper, just go ahead and take it apart and measure the gas port. Visually check the gas tube protrusion into the upper receiver, and get a pic of it, before it all gets ripped down. jtallen83
Welcome from Iowa! No fret on the PSA, 98 has found a solution for all their issues, many here have good accurate PSA rifles.
98Z5V
I just got an email from Armalite a couple days ago that the AR-10 Carbine gas tubes were back in stock, too. DSG Arms just ran out of them... What barrel/upper config did you order, Robb?... 18" midlength gas?

It's setting at about a 1/3rd the way into the cut out in the upper. I'll grab a pic. Edited January 26, 2019 by Robb in Austin
98Z5V
No need for a pic - it's too short. We see it too often, these days, and it's based from laziness of manufacturers. Buy this gas tube to remedy that situation: https://www.armalite.com/product/ar-10-carbine-length-gas-tube-10007005/ Buy it quick. They go out of stock quick. Robb in Austin
Figured so. Done. Thanks 98! Now, if someone can point me to a LPK with MOE grip/stock that will fit and is in stock without buying each part individually....

This all started because I had an AR15 lower build kit laying around, checking out PSA. Now, I still have the build kit in need of an AR15 build..... ARTrooper
Well the 6.5 Grendel is the new 5.56 around these parts it seems. lol. can't go wrong in an AR15 there.

Now, I still have the build kit in need of an AR15 build..... Many of those parts will work... I'm just sayin'. The spares are what turn into another rifle. PSA uses DPMS-based parts for the lower - any DPMS-based lower kit will have you running - you need the longer pivot and takedown pins, and the bolt catch. Those are the parts that are .308AR specific, over AR15 parts. Safety, trigger, springs and detents - all the same.

And I’m not sure about fitment on the PSA but I got with Armalite parts for the exceptions.
