For a while the best repurposed building was in my home town of Omaha.  A defunct theater complex off West Center road at 82nd st became the Omaha Gun Club.  I never got to go there during our return visits to family, but up until about 2019 it was going great.  They eventually sold to Frontier Justice, but repeated break ins and an unfortunate suicide by an unbalanced man that came in and rented a pistol eventually let to it closing altogether.  Friends tell me the building is still vacant.  Sad.  A couple of new places have popped up that are supposed to be nice.

OK. That actually made me laugh out loud to myself.

It reminded me of a store we used to service with a piece of 3/8 copper for a fuse on a condenser fan motor. I’d put money on my boss putting it there one night to get by and forgot to put a fuse in. Guess it’s prettier than a .22 round

Worked with an old Czech electrician, it was a bit slow one day so he was showing how he used to make test fuses. He worked in commie Czechoslovakia and things like fuses were hard to come by. So when troubleshooting something blowing fuses, he'd take a piece of stranded #18 AWG wire to make the fuse.  He'd figured out the ampacity of a single strand and then would twist together the required number of strands to make the necessary size needed.

When the commies left Poland Walter and his friends would throw debris on the land mines to blow them up,until one of his friends got dead.

We don't have a Video of the Day thread, just a Funny Videos thread.  We do have a Pic of the Day thread, which is here.

I posted this here, because it's not funny, but it's scary.  This dude is bad AF - Do NOT try to surround him in an alley...

I avoid those now.  My ears ring constantly from too much Ozzy, Whitesnake, Mötley Crüe, Dokken, etc... back in the 80s and early 90s.  Pioneer made some loud systems for the day.  🧏‍♂️

Might as well put a picture of that spring on a milk cartoon 'cause you're never going to see it again

That's why you buy them 10 at a time.

The detents too.

Was installing that exact spring and detent while sitting at my kitchen table once.  Something slipped and zoom gone!  There was a clatter against the wall in an alcove about 10 ft away so I went and looked, cussing the entire time because of course, no replacement in the house.  Lo and behold I found both of the little fukkers!   I almost felt like buying a lotery ticket that day.
